This place seriously gets it. The vibe is always on point—cozy but not trying too hard. I come here at least twice a week, sometimes just to hang out and sometimes to actually get stuff done. The coffee selection is insane (in the best way), and the food? So good. The calabacita gorditas are to die for.
They’re always rotating specials too, which I love—it keeps things interesting. And shoutout to the staff: super friendly, super chill, and they remember your name. That matters.

Maiz opened in my building recently and it’s been great to have homemade food in the lobby again. The quality is always high and tastes great. Pictured are the tostadas, I chose asada and added their salsa verde on top that comes on the side. Appreciate their hard work and kind service. Canned/bottled drinks are available on top of their cafe specials. Be ready to wait a few minutes if they’re busy, it’ll all come out quickly and hot and there is plenty of space to grab a seat and wait for your name. The gorditas and chile bowl (when available) are my faves but I haven’t been disappointed by anything.

I’m so excited to see my favorite food truck is now a brick and mortar location, so I can get delicious gorditas whenever I want! Everything here is made from scratch and fresh daily. It’s super easy to customize toppings if you can’t handle cheese or onions. There are several vegetarian choices and don’t skip the elote/esquites (street corn in a cup) or the rotating daily agua fresca!
