Not the same with the new owners/new management. We've eaten here the past couple of years weekly and now the food is awful. The shrimp smelled so strong that I was scared to eat it. The prior couple that ran it were so nice and attentive. Place has went straight down hill and the food is gross. We won't be going back.

So first of all, I have to say that I really liked this place under previous management. But now, it's garbage! Literally was quoted 40min for delivery and it took 105min. Showed up Luke warm, but we ate it because at this point the kids have to eat and go to bed. Nothing besides the boba was good. It's literally the same egg rolls, wantons, and fried shrimp you get mass produced from a buck a scoop place! Also ordered Vietnamese egg rolls in addition to regular. No dipping sauce besides the again mass produced sweet and sour or hot mustard. But I tried, 1 bite into them and I spit it back out! Absolutely will not be back!!! They now use Uber eats to deliver and we didn't even get a knock at the door. Just a message to check the front door. Needless to say, that delivery driver definitely doesn't get a tip approved by me! $110 later and I'm making blueberry muffins because our dinner sucks!!! I will be contacting them in the morning (because their now closed at 9pm) and requesting a refund!!! Deplorable quality!!!

This place was exactly what I was looking for. Recently moved to the area and decided to just get some weekend takeout not thinking too much about it - stumbled upon this cafe and was more than surprised. Ready in 10 minutes and genuinely the best ‘Chinese’ takeout I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely be my new go to

We’ve gone here a couple times for the family dinner because it was such a good deal and the food was just OK, but they must have changed their recipes lately or something because we got the pad Thai again and it was so much better! Judging from other reviews it looks like they might have got new owners and it seems like it was for the best because the food is way better. They no longer have the family deal but the prices are still reasonable, especially since the food is so much better. The inside could still use a makeover but would definitely recommend for takeout!

Love TaWan! I’ve been looking for a solid place for Asian food in this neighborhood for a while now and this is by far my favorite, we’ve been twice now. If you’re looking for classic Chinese food, Vietnamese, or Thai food, they’ve got something for everyone. Food comes out quick, full of flavor, portions are generous, ingredients are good quality and fresh, and the menu is reasonably priced. So far we’ve tried the sesame chicken, chicken lo mein, Thai green curry, grilled chicken noodle bowl, crab rangoons, egg drop soup, and wonton soup- all have been great, no notes. I really love wonton soup and since my favorite childhood spot closed, haven’t been able to find one I like and their broth is super flavorful. Really want to try their pho next. The owners are really sweet people and took great care of us. Would love to see this restaurant get some more attention and more foot traffic because they really deserve it!

I came in close to closing time (about 15 minutes before they closed at 9), and they still welcomed me with so much respect and kindness. The lady at the front was very nice and friendly, and even though it was almost closing, they still made my food fresh without rushing me. That kind of service means a lot. Great customer service and delicious food — I’ll definitely be coming back!

I'm given to understand that their under new ownership. It's obvious that the new cooks either don't have the recipes or dont know
How to cook. Crispy dumplings are deep fried, not pan burnt like i do at home. Pho should come with beansprouts and hot peppers. I shouldn't have to ask for them. The cook bringing me onion because he forgot to add it to the dish didn't help my opinion. The staff are helpful, if overly intrusive. I'll miss what this place was.

I've been a longtime fan of TaWan Asian Cafe, but my recent visit under the new ownership was absolutely fantastic. The Crispy Scallion Pancakes were perfectly flaky and flavorful, and the General Tso's Beef (extra spicy, just how I like it!) was incredible—tender, with a deep, rich sauce that was clearly made with care. It's so exciting to see the quality I've always loved not just maintained, but elevated. I even got a chance to meet the new owner, who was so welcoming and passionate, sharing some insights about their cooking techniques and even treating me to some free soup. It’s clear they put their heart and soul into this place. I can't wait to be a regular here again!

The menu offers a good variety of not so typical items. The Salt and Pepper Calamari and Jalapeño dishes are for example, an excellent break from the typical Sweet and Sour Pork. Service is always very attentive and very pleasant.

Food was good however my meal didn’t come with much chicken. They were skimp with the chicken. Window Seals need to be cleaned…I seen Cobwebs and dead bugs. I may be back, I may not. It didn’t pass the cleanliness test.

The food is top quality, service is fast, don't let the proximity to the dilapidated Lakeside amusement park deter you, give it a try!
