Showed up on Saturday 3/16. Building was closed and saw no notifications that they where closed. Confused on the hoursEdit in response to business:When a restaurant is listed as open from 12pm to 8pm you kind of expect them to be open during this time. We showed up at 2pm on Saturday 3/16 to find the place closed. No one would answer our calls and there was no signage or notifications on your website/Facebook that suggested that you were going to be closed during this time. We originally drove 2+ hours hoping to catch you on one of the four days you were actually open.I'm posting this in hopes other's don't waste their time such as what I did. Your unprofessionalism and rudeness in your reply is really only hurting your business. If you can't handle simple criticism then you probably aren't meant for the restaurant industry.Lord help yourself

I literally just came here in an UBER FROM DOWN TOWN, for this place to be hosting a Private event, Nothing on line to even give a heads up nor can you reach anyone because there phone number is out of service... IM LITERALLY HERE EATING AT A CAFE ON THE NEXT CORNER on my birthday here in Denver bad enough I don't have anyone here. I'm just Extremely upset I'm sure the food is great...

I honestly have no words. My visit was nothing short of absolutely amazing. The service was astounding and the atmosphere was amazing. Ms. Marquette took such good care of my friends and I. We’re from Texas so this hospitality was so greatly appreciated. The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing! We will absolutely be coming back the next time we visit Colorado.

The restaurant had a Millie older of leftover water smell in the restaurant the food was preheated by microwave, which cause the food not to taste good and become very dry. Overcharged on the prices, did not have the exact thing that I wanted to eat on the menu for that day which cause me to order food that I really had no taste for, being at this restaurant for the first time in my life being gets a two and a half star. Since they don't have two and a half stars I gave it a three would I go back not really in Denver Colorado

being from Denver you know that there's a ton of great restaurants & places to get food. however, there's not a ton of places to get good soul food & especially with food that taste like a home cooked meal. After wanting something new to eat & dope place to experience I visited Mattie's on a Saturday with bae, came highly recommended as her spot lol ... upon entering Mattie's instantly feels like home or a place you've been to many times before. For starters I ordered the Pineapple & Vodka she ordered the Mattie's Special ... For our meal she ordered the honey hot catfish, smothered pork chop over rice, collard greens & mac n cheese.. I ordered the smothered pork chop over rice, Mattie's smoked hot wings, fried okra & mac n cheese with the red beans n rice... orange soda & water of course... I rank Mattie's a definite 10/10 & a place you must try... it's also seems like an amazing place to host an event if your grown as they also offer that service. i can't wait to return to Mattie's sooner than later.AG #ceostatus

Today, July 22, 2023 I entered the establishment expecting a great dining experience, only to be asked to leave by the server/waitress when I asked to sit at a different table. Her statement was, "I'd prefer you to sit here." I said, "well, what about the customer's preference." She then asked if we'd like any other beverage besides water. My husband audibly said "no," I shook my head no. She then said if I wasn't going to be audible she wouldn't be able to serve me!!!! I've never in my whole life ever experienced behavior such as hers. And I've eaten around the world! She was the absolute worse!!!!!

I was in Colorado for vacation and drove from Westminster all the way to Mattie’s for dinner and there was a sign on the door that they were closed. Very disappointed. Then instead of the owner saying, sorry for your inconvenience, they troll my comment? Yeah, you’re down to one star. Just adjust your hours, it’s google dang it. You could literally change your hours every day. Just keep cooking and stay out the comments, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

The Catfish was absolutely delicious, probably the best Catfish I had so far. The green beans with smoked turkey had a kick to it, no pieces of meat, and big pieces of onions. The candied yams and Cornbread was not my favorite. I wouldn't recommend and try the yams or Cornbread again. I will however, try a different side next time. The macaroni and cheese was dry. The pork chops were good but also had a little kick. If you go at least an hr and a half before closing, chances are you won't get everything you went there for.Parking: Free street parking on the residential street and Meter parking nearby on Colfax.
