3.7 star average for this place is not remotely accurate. I'm not really in to sweets but this place is fantastic. I frequently bought mermaid cupcakes for my team for birthdays etc, never had a bad experience. When you walk in it smells so amazing, they should bottle the air and sell it.

This was our first visit. Maybe we went on a bad day, but their cupcakes were forgettable. We got a birthday cake one where it had funfetti cake with white frosting and sprinkles. There was zero taste to the frosting. It was so bland i didn’t know that was possible considering what frosting is generally made of.Our cupcakes also fell apart as soon as we bit into it. I know there are going to be crumbs, but chunks of cake were falling off from just one bite. I don’t recall having to struggle to keep other cupcakes I’ve had intact.We ate these within 30 min of taking them home. Picked them up in early afternoon.

The absolute BEST gluten free cupcakes I've ever had. And believe me I've had A LOT being gluten free since 2009. This is the tastiest. Texture is perfect and taste is great.

We ordered a chocolate heart shaped lambeth birthday cake in person (with a reference photo). The ordering process was simple and straightforward, and the person taking the order was kind and very polite! We were given an estimate of $150 (not including tax) and agreed, as the decoration is more complex.A day prior to pick up, we received a call to ask if we wanted to pay an additional $15 dollars for one more line of piping that was on the original photo (we thought this would be included in the original price? we declined, the cake still looked great) and another $15 if we wanted fondant lettering (which we never asked for). After already agreeing to $150 + tax, this seemed a bit extreme (Especially seeing that their specialty flavor cakes are $135 for a Half Sheet).In terms of the actual taste, we liked that the frosting wasn’t overly sweet, however it lacked flavor, and the actual chocolate cake was grocery store quality and a bit dry.Everyone in the process was very polite and cordial, and the decoration aspect was great! However, we feel that the price was not justified based on actual quality of the cake.

I ordered 3 dozen cupcakes and 3 dozen cookies for my office Christmas party and everyone LOVED them!! I really liked the red velvet cupcake and the Carmel cookies. Can't wait until we can order for our next event :)

We had a really great experience ! We ordered a custom cake for my daughters 16th birthday. We sent over a couple of pictures of what she wanted and it was beautiful when we picked it up ! Everyone at the party loved the cake, it was so yummy !
I am SOOO happy Mermaids survived the pandemic! THE BEST cakes and cupcakes around. And these lovely ladies were so very gracious when they delivered EXACTLY what we asked for and we realized it was a little plain- they quickly and with smiles added more embellishment for us! You gotta try them!!

I was looking for something sweet after lunch so stopped in at mermaids. I can't eat chocolate - it's a migraine trigger. Their selection of non-chocolate cupcakes was pitiful. Strawberry cheesecake or vanilla salted caramel. I went with strawberry cheesecake. The strawberry on this cupcake looked like it was a couple days old. Dry and leathery. There was no strawberry flavor. The cupcake was dry. Overall a sad excuse for $5

Since moving to Denver we have gotten all of our birthday/anniversary/celebration cakes from here. Love this bakery, it's also nice how they let you do curbside pickup too!

This place deserves more stars. I just went here and having family in the baking business and having made professional wedding cakes myself I can say this place is legit. The quality of both the cake and the Swiss meringue buttercream (which is wedding quality) is outstanding. If you like and appreciate high quality baked goods then be sure to stop by; I know I’ll be returning. Bonus: the owner is super kind and passionate about what she does as is true of her staff.
