Mississippi Boy Catfish & Ribs

Easy 10 out of 10. This place should be 4.5 stars and above overall. We went on a Thursday evening my family of 4. It wasn’t too busy, very chill atmosphere. We got the Combo 3 shrimp, ribs, and catfish as well as a turkey leg, corn bread, okra, greens, and Mac and cheese . The food was delicious, I think the young people use the word “bussin”. Staff and Owner were very hospitable. We would definitely come back. Some people don’t understand the restaurant industry and ultimately anyone in any service capacity will never make EVERYBODY happy. Even Michael Jordan missed a free throw here and there and nobody is perfect. More people should give more grace if any restaurant just has an off night and also accept that every place isn’t going to fit your flavor profile. Overall, this place is great. This is your sign to give this place a try if you have not or even give it a second chance if the first was unsatisfactory.

Food was good but service was awful. No wait staff. Owner was trying to do everything himself and it wasn't working. We ended up leaving without the drinks we ordered. And it was soooo hot in there. Great entertainment though. I'd go back.

The owner Ty is a very welcoming person and the food is amazingly good. I smashed the shrimp dinner with collard greens, cornbread, and candied yams. Then I came back the next day and smashed the pork ribs, beef, ribs, and shrimp with the collards and cornbread as my side.

Finally a place I can get some catfish !!

Amazing atmosphere good live music.

This was my second time visiting the establishment. Never disappoints. Food......TOP NOTCH!! Local musicians did an Outstanding Job on stage. Definitely coming back.

This is our first time coming here, fabulous service, the atmosphere is amazing and the Jazz music is phenomenal. You get a ton of food for what you pay, we had so much left over. Fabulous place and the owner is so hospitable it's the home town feeling.

They were short on staff and they still gave a great service. But the most shocking thing was the fish sandwich. What the hell... it was the best fish sandwich i've ever had in my entire life. The seasoning and everything else hits! They told me an argentinian was the cook. No wonder!

i’m from texas and batter on fish is falling apart on both shrimp and fish. and yams don’t taste anything like yams nor does it look like it

Staff wasn’t very welcoming, the food was okay, my catfish was good just tasted like the frying oil needed to be changed, ribs were good just a little too salty with the dry rub on top, there was no AC not enough fans we were sweating and swapping at flies couldn’t really enjoy our meal..

After a mix up ordering online and realizing this establishment no longer uses the platform Beyond Menu, Ty was quick to find out what my order was so that I could order and pick it up. The restaurant itself was clean and nicely decorated, it was a very nice atmosphere but Ty and the patrons at the bar were wonderful and kind and made picking up food all the more pleasant. The food itself - amazing. Truly every bite was delightful. We will 100000% be back and can’t wait to try more of the menu. Thank you Ty for the amazing service and amazing food!

Excellent southern style food! The fried catfish was phenomenal! The potato salad was amazing!

What a great club! Clean, very nice atmosphere, attractive dining set-ups, and very good live music. An excellent place for an enjoyable meal or just a nice music club experience.

I was told about this place for its atmosphere and catfish and most importantly a taste of jazz…. Well I was not disappointed in the atmosphere and the owner was amazing with the service he gave bringing our order.

If you are looking for tasty catfish this is the spot! They fried my catfish to perfection!! Delicious. The fries would be amazing if they used real potatoes or a different form of fries but they were able. My husband ordered chicken wings were alright - the drums and flats could have been seperated- the anatomy of a chicken - the yams could have used a little rendering.

The jazz was pretty cool and entertaining and I can see it being an amazing space for artists, spoken words, and empowering engagements!

The decor is perfect for the location and I see how the summer could be a nice date night and a social gathering for friends, family and community!

So to my black folks and those who love fried catfish and some jazz - take a visit 🙂
