Ode to Monaco Inn...

This has been a family favorite for years and a true hidden gem.

They offer Greek and American food and some of the best fried chicken in town.

The service is always great and the owner Mike is friendly and welcoming.

They have a fantastic hummus appetizer that comes with a variety of fresh vegetables and pita pieces to dip/swish with.

My go to dish is the Monaco Inn plate that comes with gyros & souvlaki (I'm partial to the turkey), onions, tomatoes, warm pita and tzatziki sauce. I prefer grilled onions (they're always kind enough to do this). It comes with a side and I like the avgolemeno soup, which is something you don't see many other places.

They offer a variety of desserts. The limoncello cake is fantastic.

Sadly today is their last day of business as the owner has decided to retire.

Thank you Monaco Inn for so many great meals and memories.

Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating and offer options for kids

I was so disappointed in their quality of pork used in the souvlaki. It had a lot of grisel that made it uncomfortable to eat. We do not ever want to return there again.

So, I'm not Greek, but I lived on the Island of Crete for 3yrs. This is the first time I have visited the Monaco Inn. It's a little restaurant tucked away in a roadside mall on the more industrial side of town. We almost missed it if it wasn't for Google Maps. As far as people speaking about authentic? Well,, I'm not gonna say it was bad. In fact the lemon soup was delicious! But obviously I've had better Greek food. Honestly Pete's Central is way more authentic. The dining room is small and we had to wait 20 minutes to get a table. When we arrived they must have let all the old folk's out of the nearby rest home, because we felt like the youngest couple in the place and I'm 50!? We had a cramped in feeling sitting next to the kitchen door. Our server was busy but friendly enough. It's decorated with posters of Greece and images and the ceiling is painted like a cloudy sky, but well.. it was just ok. After we left we both agreed, it was good, but we wouldn't be back.

Delicious meal, I can't say enough things, my party of 6 asked when we will return. To all the people who write bad reviews about this place, get a life. The food is absolutely awesome.

Expensive prices for very mediocre food. There are so many delicious Greek restaurants nearby, I'm not sure how this one has maintained its 4.5 stars. This place is not welcoming. I've never had such an awkward and uncomfortable time being ID'ed before. For ref, my husband and I are almost 30 and the way we were treated made us feel like the restaurant is battling a serious underage drinking problem because the distrust towards us was palpable from the get-go. As such, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. I called ahead to make sure coming in with an hour till closing would be okay and it was still a very weird experience. We were definitely out of the restaurant by 9. Kind of a bummer. We live nearby and were hoping to find a new spot to frequent.

I ordered their $20 roasted lemon chicken dinner with Greek potatoes. I got two potato wedges that amounted to about a quarter of a potato with unremarkable flavor, and roasted chicken that looked and tasted like any store-bought rotisserie chicken to-go. The chicken did not taste of lemon whatsoever. Dish served with chicken "jus", which didn't have any flavor. The side of hummus comes without pita. The extra pita that we asked for was not warm, not fluffy, and unremarkable. Unfortunately, maybe this business is struggling and they are cutting corners in the kitchen. Regarding the service - both women who waited the table seemed like they didn't want to do so, especially the second one. No interest in paying attention to my refillable drink. If the service would have been there, I wouldn't have written this review. The way we were treated was pretty bad, and the tables and clients behind us were been served better and more enthusiastically. Hope they improve.
