Looking to play a friendly game of Billiards for two, we stumbled across this windowless dive bar that is much likened to a 1970s biker heist flic establishment. And perhaps it was a microcosm of 1970s biker aggression based on our experience! To preface, it was FREE pool night (Tuesday), so no money was placed on a table. Upon entrance, both tables were occupied. One blue-collared man in particular was pummeling balls in the pockets with great celerity. I could sense his deteriorating home life and his temerity in his legal record from across the bar. After him usurping the pool table for 3-4 games, we put our names down to play a singular game, call it a night, and retreat home to recumbency. While waiting for this individual to finish, I took a modicum of solace with my $5 Avalanche beer while watching other customers chow down on McDonalds, food from a different establishment (but I don't make the rules). Finally, he finished yet another game and I walked over to play a game myself since my name was next on the list. With bravado speech that surely didn't match his stature or habitus, he reassured us that we could not play a single game of pool unless it involved him. "Has to be doubles or scotch doubles! I have the table for tonight!" He reassured us.... On free pool night. I thought he was kidding at first, but was sandbagged when he actually meant it. There was no way to wheedle him out of his aggression, so we played him and vamoosed. Only reason this is receiving two stars is because of friendly wait staff.

Mugsy's is under new ownership and has been rebranded as the Highline Lounge. The interior is fresh and updated with 2 pool tables and some cute bartenders. The food is good and the cocktails are wet. Recommend

This is called Highline lounge now. Cyndi was an exceptional bartender and a friendly face to welcome me to the neighborhood. A great no frills dive bar that offers pool, draft beer, and good company. I will be back again next time I'm in town.

My absolute favorite dive bar in the area. Great group of regulars, great staff, and good heavy pouring on the cocktails. Laura is the absolute best bartender. Pre-covid, they regularly did bingo on Saturdays too. Restrooms need a lot of work. But hey, it's still a dive bar.

This is a great little dive bar. Small place, but lots of fun. The people are great, as are the bar tenders. They are extremely friendly and great at what they do. The sometimes have afternoon bingo on Saturdays. If you're in the area, try it out.
