My husband and I eat here regularly. I have never had a meal here that I didn't like. This time I tried the eggplant creole plate and my husband had the red beans and rice withe a side of fried okra. Everything was delicious. My favorite dish here is the Jambalaya but you can't go wrong with anything here. The service was excellent, our waitress was friendly and came over to ask if we needed anything several times. We will be going back again soon.

First things first: the food here is absolutely phenomenal—some of the best in Denver, hands down. I’ve been coming here for years, and the quality has always been consistently top-notch. I also appreciate that they offer late-night food, which is rare in Denver.
That said, the experience we had last night for a birthday dinner left a lot to be desired. We were a group of 11 with a reservation. After a couple of rounds of drinks, our server casually mentioned—almost as an afterthought—that they could only split the check 2 or 3 ways. He was vague and unclear, saying it “depends on how busy it is.” This was our first red flag—and by that point, it was too late to do anything about it.
At the end of the night, when the check came (just under $700), we were told again that it could only be split 3 ways—despite the restaurant being nearly empty. On top of that, a 20% automatic gratuity was added without clearly informing the table. Only one person was told, and the rest of us nearly double-tipped. This lack of transparency felt sneaky and left a bad taste in our mouths. Not to mention the awful modern country music that played loudly the entire time and tainted our experience. We asked about changing the music and were met with a very unfriendly response from the wait staff.
To make matters worse, there was an additional 2% “kitchen appreciation” fee tacked onto the bill. While I fully support fair pay for kitchen staff, it’s frustrating to be hit with hidden fees on top of high menu prices and drinks. If fair compensation is the goal, build it into your pricing—don’t place the burden on patrons after the fact. PAY YOUR STAFF!
It’s now the next day, and our group is using multiple apps trying to sort out who owes whom what. I cannot fully describe in words how awful this process has been trying to coordinate via text with 11 people while hungover to figure out our bills which should have been included in our 22% gratuity that we paid at the restaurant. It’s absurd. In 2025, nearly every other restaurant and bar has handheld systems that allow individual payments—even when busy. We went to two more bars afterward (still as a group of 11), and both handled our 11 individual checks with ease on a busy Friday night. So why can’t this place?
This outdated system creates unnecessary frustration, puts pressure on staff, and makes it harder for customers to enjoy what should be a seamless dining experience. And when you combine that with hidden fees, it feels exploitative. I understand that this problem is not unique to this establishment, but rest assured that I am also leaving similar reviews for every bar/restaurant where I encounter this same issue. This is getting ridiculous in 2025 when it feels like patrons are being charged a new service fee every week.
My message to ownership is this: MODERNIZE YOUR POS SYSTEM. And Stop offloading labor and employee pay onto your customers. I want to love this place—I really do. The food deserves it. But the overall experience? Not worth it. And unfortunately, that’s why I won’t be back for that reason.

I don’t get the hype. I kept hearing the Mac and cheese is good,. Their shrimp Mac tastes plane and unflavored. It also cost almost $20 for the three shrimps they put in there. Hush puppies were so dry, I had to drink water to swallow them

Loved it! The bbq shrimp Mac and cheese, eggplant creole plate and honey cornbread were awesome but the chocolate chip bread pudding was insanely delicious! We loved it and will definitely be back.

If I could give negative 5 I probably would. We made a reservation for my mothers 65th birthday however when we walked in the girl at the bar told us to sit at any high table (there was two available) I thought that was weird being we made a reservation. My kids noticed stairs so we decided to go upstairs to sit. It took a good 10 minutes before I was able to order drinks. (I had to sit downstairs to order) so I ordered 3 margaritas. Sprite and lemonade for my kids. After about 15/20 more minutes of waiting I ordered everyone’s food. When I finished ordering the girl asked if I had a card to put on file (like I was drinking from the bar or something) I just said sure. 6 people came to $261.00 (one chicken sandwich, two po boy sandwiches (which should have been discounted per happy hour) and 3 catfish plates. They added a 20% gratitude charge for a large group 40$ dollars to be exact!! The other bar tender walked right past me when I was saying excuse me. Good service would have got a bigger tip! I would not recommend coming here if those two bartenders are there. They obviously had a issue with us per our ethnicity.

This was a terrible representation of authentic Creole food. I can only assume that they just don't know any better. This was probably the worst étouffée I've ever tasted. It was severely underseasoned.
The staff were friendly. But beyond that, if you are from the south, don't expect what you can get at home from here.

Nice people, nice restaurants atmosphere but the food is terrible. If you’re from the south or have had good cajun food before don’t go there. If it’s your first time trying cajun food don’t go there. If you’re older in age and can’t handle flavor like you did when you were younger than this is the perfect restaurant for you. Respectfully though because they were kind but no flavor at all. I like it if they took the NOLA out of the name since I’m from Louisiana but it is what it is. Again cool people and staff, still left a tip just because of the staff but food wise nah
