The food tastes excellent. Closest to new Orleans cooking in the Rockies. Just wish there serving sizes were bigger lol
Taverns gave me some of the best catfish ever it was hot steaming on demand the french fries always came crunchy and the owner was always smiling from New Orleans Dominic Armstrong I even had a couple catfish plates I told him he had hair on it and they even replaced it in style if you want first class diner service you will go to NOLA voodoo tavern if there was ever a problem they still would replace your food and not make you pay for it and that's what you call real hospitality in Denver they need to be on the news I'm Dominic Armstrong and I think I want to talk about NOLA voodoo tavern on the news

Nola Voodoo is new & improved too, they've upgraded to a larger spot directly across the street :) the new spot is 3x bigger so it has way more tables & more seats at the bar... and it has more TVs plus two pool tables!! The pool table is nice & the TVs give it more of a sports bar or dive bar feel... and the food is even better bc they expanded their menu a little! Oh & I think a few more taps for beer too, and an expanded liquor selection. Love the new vibe. Great job to the Nola Voodoo team, and thank you for bringing us family recipes straight from New Orleans - the gumbo, jambalaya, & shrimp po'boy are just to die for!!
The etoufee was good but not as great as I had read about in reviews. It was more like rice and crawfish in a brown gravy. I don't think it was horrible but I wasn't impressed. Service was immaculate though. And it's a cool building although in a rough area it seemed like. I'll go again and try a different dish.

Had the chance to try their etouffee, red beans & rice, gumbo sampler trio and the sausage po'boy. Everything was well prepared and tasted delicious. The atmosphere is festive, being reflective of the New Orleans cuisine. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of the food served.

Will be back authentic af
The food here is fantastic, honestly the level they are performing at far outpaces their price. Got the fried pickles, they were pickle spears instead of chips which was a very welcome surprise. The breading was not too thick or thin, stayed intact while eating, and was crisp, not soggy. The Nola sampler with rice and beans, gumbo, and etouffee cups is fantastic. Two weeks in a row I’ve tried to get the jambalaya with it but they have been out. Will definitely keep trying. The red beans and rice are the surprise stand out in the trio, it’s a truly special dish. Honestly, with this quality food they could revamp the whole place into a fine dining establishment and triple the price and I bet they’d be full every night. Don’t sleep on this spot!

We decided to make gumbo for our NOLA-themed Super Bowl party; long story short, it came out terrible. OMG. In a scramble, I searched "best gumbo in Denver." NOLA Voodoo Tavern popped up. The lady who answered the phone was so friendly, patient, and helpful. I told her how many people we were hosting and the amount we thought each person might eat. She said she would inquire with her catering manager and get back to me. Not only did she call me back promptly, but she also sent a photo of the sizes of their dishes. I placed an order for six quarts of gumbo and started my drive to the bar. When I entered, it felt like I had walked into a spot in New Orleans. The owner happened to be there. He was warm and welcoming, thanked me for ordering, and answered my questions about reheating the food. All of our guests LOVED the gumbo! From the service to the food, everything was amazing that day. I highly recommend this great tavern. We can't wait to go back and try the other dishes. Thank you for saving the day, NOLA Voodoo Tavern! We appreciate you!

Unfortunately disappointed in the food!
I had high hopes considering the name. Who wouldn't expect great Creole food?! Especially since I also come from the South and Gulf Coast.
I ordered the fried green tomatoes, which lacked seasoning and were greasy. The hush puppies were good just over fried. The crawfish etouffee was also way under seasoned and was practically missing all the crawfish.
I'd go back to try the boiled crawfish, but I don't have high hopes for flavor.

I am stunned. This oyster po boy and gumbo and jambalaya is perfect. This food blew me away, back to Pascagoula Mississippi. Back to Bozos. This shit is the real deal.

Fun neighborhood hangout. The food is solid, and they have some Louisiana beers hard to find anywhere else in town. Super friendly staff.
