Absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in Colorado. Friends have been going here their entire lives. Love the eggplant, green beans, twice cooked pork, etc.

legit Szechuan, maybe the best in Denver, and the friendliest people! a hidden gem. Dan Dan noodles, eggplant and pork and cumbers all outstanding. Mongolian beef and mapo tofu were pretty good. Chong Qing chicken had too much Szechuan pepper and not enough flavor for us, but it was probably very authentic. Will come again or order takeout again for sure.

Every dish we tried was wonderful! The particular standouts were the twice cooked fish and the eggplant. They were also very accomidating of our dietary needs.

A family styled Chinese restaurant ran by a couple and the food feel very traditional and authentic. They are very friendly and we had a good conversation with them while dinning there.
The eggplant and dumplings are pretty good!

Dan Dan noodles were pretty good. Good chili oil and a nice kick. Dishes could have more vegetables or sauce, but it was pretty solid and a good portion. Somewhat pricey
As genuine Sichuan food as one is going to find in the greater Denver area. The restaurant should change its name to inform potential customers that this is first and foremost a Sichuan 'small plates' (xiao cai) eaterty, albeit one with great noodle options including a very solid dan dan mian. The home-wrapped boiled dumplings (shui jiao) are meaty and with the thick skin indicating they are of the north China variety. How the chef and his wife run this place alone and manage to get the American-portioned dishes out quickly is amazing. Don't look for an elegant atmosphere, but the food easily makes up for it. I've tried many of the newer trendy Chinese restaurants in the area and they don't hold a candle to Noodles Express in terms of authenticity.

Best Chinese food in Denver. Honestly shook it doesn’t have 5 stars. Coming from someone who lived in Hong Kong for almost 2 decades, this is the closest I’ve found to traditional Chinese food. This is not American-Chinese food - this is not for the Panda Express folks - this is for folks who will really appreciate some Chinese home style cooking. The menu features 扣肉 (braised pork belly), 獅子頭 (Chinese braised meatballs), and 水煮魚 (Szechuan boiled fish). Their Dan Dan mien/noodles is by far the best and most original I’ve tried, even compared to Chinese places in LA and NY. All noodles are handmade by the owner DAILY!! Can’t recommend it enough. If you don’t know what to order - ask the chef for recos and trust!!

We used to like Noodle Express. But now it’s mostly rice or noodle with very little meat. Very disappointed.
I have been here a few times, the eggplant garlic sauce dish is my favorite so far - the Dan Dan noodles and ma po tofu are also excellent. Would be an awesome spot for a group to do a family style meal.

The Chong Qing Chicken is probably my single favorite dish in Denver.
The people complaining about the tingly sechuan peppercorns and the chicken bones clearly did no research into the dish prior to ordering it. That's literally what the dish is supposed to be. You pick out the chicken pieces with chopsticks, eat around the bone, and then spit the bone out. It's actually a very fun eating experience. Not only that, but the menu literally warns people that the pieces contain bones. LEARN TO READ FOLKS.
It's so hard to find actual sechuan peppercorns in sechuan dishes in Denver that it's ridiculous. Same with the Mapo Tofu. Every other place I've tried Mapo Tofu completely omits the sechuan peppercorns - the main spice of the dish.
