Absolutely amazing local brewery with some of the most flavor forward beer. The owners are well established with the community making this place one not to miss out on when in Denver.
Nice clean beers
I've been here a couple dozen times now and it's always a great experience. The staff are all super friendly, the beers are tasty & unique and there's a great community vibe. My current favorite brews are the funk shwei and sour krush - both are very craveable!
Bonus: they have a rotating cast of great food trucks here (Barbosas BBQ is my current fave!) and in addition to sparkling water, they have an interesting selection of N/A drinks (hibiscus tea on tap, aqua frescas) if you're with someone who doesn't drink alcohol.
Great beer. First beer on our Denver beer crawl. đ Thanks
The first time I visited Novel Strand was in August 2022. I had just moved to town, and my wife and I stumbled in to get some work done since we didn't have Internet yet in our house.
Fast-forward two years later, and this is one of my favorite places to drink, hang out, and just *be* in Denver.
I've visited over 40 Denver-area breweries, and Novel Strand is top-five, for sure; maybe even top-three. The New Zealand hops create a really memorable and unique beer experience, and the other beer offeringsâlagerbiers, pale lagers, kölschs, and moreâare just as tasty.
Most important, though, are the staff. Gigi, Oona, Adam, and Sarahiâas well as former staff members Maxwell, Rachel, and Shantâare delightful servers and people. Our lives in and around Denver are better because we feel so at home at NS.
Cheers, Novel Strand! Thanks for everything!
4/5 - Pretty good spot! Wasnât a fan of the Kolsch I got here recently, but that was the only beer I got. I love the atmosphere and service. Beer prices were reasonable too. I can see myself coming back here and will update the review once I get a few more of their beers under the hood.
There was a food truck outside while I was here and it was great! Unbelievably expensive though.
Superb beer & wait staff. Very good place to enjoy a brew.
Best in town!
My favorite neighborhood brewery for the atmosphere and service. Truly one of the best gems of Baker.
Love that they opened the coffee shop side of the business during the day but wish they would continue service through the afternoon during the week without a cutover (and an hour or two? of closing in between). It would be my favorite place to work easily if so (aka please see this!!). Otherwise, no notes. Looking forward to seeing this side of the business expand!
Usually a more limited selection than your typical brewery, but everything is dialed in and worth drinking with absolutely no âfillerâ beers on the menu. They have a distinctive style and you are unlikely to mistake their beer for anybody elseâs. The altbier is excellent, youâve never had anything like the funk schwei, and youâll probably run into at least a few hops youâve never heard of working your way through the hoppy beers. RiNo and Five Points might have more breweries per block, but youâre going to struggle to match Novel Strand on quality

Great vibe, great outdoors and super great beer!
A nice neighborhood brewery with high quality craft beer. Nice staff and excellent service.
There is a pizza cart outside the entrance for those who are hungry.
Fantastic beers, staff, ambiance, and ownership. Highly recommend.
Just great beer and a great atmosphere. We did not get a chance to order from the food wagon (but my daughter says it's got amazing food), but my British beer palette was very satisfied by their selection. Very welcoming, the family even had a couple of beers playing board games.
Novel Strand is one of the best brewaries in Denver. Great staff that really serves the Baker neighborhood. Always a very interesting selection of beers that changes constantly. I'm obsessed with the fermented teas with tropical fruit flavors. And the Altbier is amazing, almost identical to the beers I had when I visited Dusseldorf even down to the glasswear. You can tell they have an immense knowledge of beer. This hidden gem is not to be missed for anyone exploring Denver's brewaries.
