They also gave me a free tequila shot because idk why, but im grateful. chicken tenders dank and also the cocktails. Watching the Pats game (although it’s a NY bar).

one of if not the best bar i’ve been too, i went in a couple weeks ago and got some tacos. and then mac and cheese to go. ive worked in fine dining and restaurants my whole life and the food was amazing. all i had was one cocktail so trust me i wasn’t drunk it was seriously good food and my drink was amazing too. i can’t remember the bartenders name but she was an absolute sweetheart and one of the best hospitality workers i think ill ever meet in my life. she noticed i liked a certain type of cheese they put on certain menu items and asked if id want it on my tacos and honestly it made my whole night. ive been meaning to write this review for a while and feel bad it took me so long. do yourself a favor and stop by for a drink and eat at this place.

Great place with a fun vibe, but the service isn’t great. Staff were miserable and at times rude. I know working in a busy bar comes with challenges, but if you don’t want to deal with lots of people don’t work at a bar in a city!

I recently visited Occidental, a dive bar that had a pretty good vibe and decent food. The atmosphere was laid-back, making it a nice spot to unwind with friends. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the menu offered a variety of tasty options that hit the spot. Overall, I enjoyed the casual feel of the place and the quality of the food.
However, the service left something to be desired. It took a while for our server to take our order, and we often found ourselves waiting too long for refills and check-ins. While the staff seemed friendly enough, they appeared overwhelmed and distracted, which made the experience less enjoyable. If Occidental can improve its service, it would definitely elevate the overall experience, as the bar has a lot of potential.

Great Bar was pretty solid bar food. The staff is always really nice and the crowd is always pretty chill. Great for a late night move if you need a drink or something to eat because the kitchen is open until they close.

We had Occidental on our Denver list with three exclamation marks next to it but couldn’t remember why… now we know! We ended up going every single day of our trip. It’s that good.
This is the kind of place that feels like a true neighborhood bar—filled with locals, great energy, and zero pretension. The drinks are spot on, and the vibe is even better.
Huge shoutout to Jason and David behind the bar—they kept us laughing the whole time with their fun jokes and made us feel like regulars right away.
If you want a place that feels authentic, welcoming, and just plain fun, Occidental is it. Definitely deserving of those three exclamation marks!!!

Went there last night with friends and reviewed the bill this morning to realize occidental charges a 5% “Health Care charge”. On their website it mentions a 5% surcharge on each check but nothing about healthcare. It is never a customers responsibility to pay a company’s employees in any capacity. This is a shady business practice and everyone should be aware
