I have been here twice now, for a prix fixe menu last summer and now Valentines day, the latter of which was a complete disappointment. We turned up for our reservation on time and waited 10-15 mins to actually be seated. Wait staff was great, but clearly slammed, as was the sole bartender next door in the Ships Tavern. The food was ok, but the menu was very sparse and it ultimately felt like a very poor value for what turned out to be an almost $400 meal for two. I think you can do much better for that price in Denver.

This place is amazing! We got the 3 course meal for $49.99 a person, and upgraded to the table side Caesar salad. Our server was amazing and gifted us champagne and macarons with the check. We will definitely be coming back!

My friend and I really like the prix fix menu that Palace Arms is now offering. There's a feeling of luxury with the attentive service, rich decor, and with each course beautifully presented. Several tables were enjoying table-side preparation of Caesar salad. So cool! The one drawback was the unpleasant smell of the smoking room and cigar smoke wafting into the dining room, almost taking our appetite away. There ARE doors to each room that could be closed, out of consideration for dining customers. As we exited the Palace Arms we were pleasantly surprised to discover a 4-piece band playing to an appreciative audience. The Brown is alive and well!
The food was excellent with the prix fixe menu. The restaurant was quiet and cozy. Staff were attentive. I would highly recommend this for a nice meal at a very reasonable price and of course going to the Brown Palace is always a treat.
Excellent service. Good options for a set menu Really enjoyed “ made at your table “ Caesar Salad “
Had a girls night dinner with my bestfriend from high school while in town, a lovely time was had!
The beef filet was a little over-salted and little closer to rare than mid-rare, but otherwise everything was great if on the expensive side for get you get in total
In credible food, menu options and service. Feels like the Palace Arms of old. Great update on the tables and chairs while maintaining the look and feel of the original concept. Highly recommend
We had a fixed price menu for Christmas dinner. It was pricey but we thought we would get over the top food. Nothing spectacular. My husband got lobster thermidor with a 1.5lb lobster. There was no way that it was that weight. I had beef tenderloin that was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The ambiance was nice and service was great. But will not do dinner there again
Christmas Day dinner. $400 for my daughter and I. Cuisine and service impeccable. Made reservations weeks in advanced. The day of we asked if any availability an hour earlier- they said no. Then hold a moment- then said yes. We were seated at a huge both for 4 tho we were 2. Booth was next to kitchen and serving station. So my view for 2 hours was kitchen with fluorescent lights and frantic chefs/servers. No candlelight on our table tho every other table was lit beautifully. Instead we had two desk lamps on ledge next to us shining about 400 watts onto our table. I asked to switch tables. They said no. I asked that the lamps be turned off. They said no. So ambience for our Christmas dinner was ZERO. So sad and I will not return.

We've never spent so much for such a horrible food experience. It was pre fixe. 1st course, soup was very salty and cold. 2nd course—scallops but they forgot to bring them. We reminded them when they brought out the main courses. So out came the scallops. We order the same but mine and my wife's were prepared differently, but both equally overcooked, as were the main courses—shoe leather beef and lobster that seemed like it had gone through a drier cycle. Even the dessert tasted like it had come from a chain grocery store. They couldn't even manage to bring us the same size wine glasses even though we were having the same wine. Way to thoroughly ruin a Christmas Eve Dinner. Denver's stately hotel? No. An embarrassment to Denver!! A mere cost of $480. Never again!
Unfortunately the food was quite mediocre and service was worse for what should be an experience. We had hoped this would be the place for a new tradition. May be better off in the bar or atrium but don't go all out for fine dining
First surprise - website showed a prix fixe dinner at $49/person. no mention of a "special" higher-priced Xmas eve dinner. When we sat down at the table, they showed us the menu which showed the $149/person higher charge. The four who sat at the table next to us got up and walked out when they saw it (they had two younger children). The salad and scallop appetizers were good. The lobster thermidor was poor - very little lobster and of mediocre quality. The sauce was not the rich creamy sauce you usually get on a thermidor. Very disappointing - especially since its cost was $50 more than if we had ordered it on the usual prix fixe dinner. There were no sides offered or available to buy with any of the entrees. One couple who ordered prime rib was offered french fries when they complained. We spoke with two other couples the next morning who also complained about the lobster entree. Setting was nice, service good, but the meal was not to standard and not worth the higher charge. Expected better of the Brown. Had I known, we would have booked the Ship Tavern instead.
For an exclusive restaurant we were disappointed. The music was too loud, thought the servers would have been just as festive in black slacks, white shirts and Christmas ties. We did not like that everyone chose their own Christmas garb. Some were cute but others not so much. We could smell the cigar smoke throughout dinner which tainted the taste of the food.
We visited on Christmas Eve Eve with our adult children and daughter-in-law, and it was such a special experience. The Christmas decorations were absolutely beautiful and created the perfect festive atmosphere. The service was impeccable from start to finish—attentive, welcoming, and professional without feeling rushed. The tableside Bananas Foster was such a fun and memorable touch, truly a highlight of the evening. And the potato soup? Incredibly creamy and downright to die for. It was the perfect setting for quality family time and a wonderful way to celebrate the season together. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant for both special occasions and an exceptional dining experience
