Wow. It's my first time here and I've had a great first impression. I came in a bad mood and left in a good one. They got me my food the way I wanted it and it tasted better than I expected. I'm very suprised. Staff were very friendly and easy on the eyes. I'm coming back.
We received our food super quick! Everything is delicious. The only thing I would note is there tables were a bit sticky and so were the high chairs.
This place is super consistent. They have their own flavors so just because they have something similar to what you might be used don't expect it to be that. They tend to have more spice in their dishes. They also use higher quality ingredients than most take out Asian restaurants.
Pei Wei often sounds good but it never comes together like it does in my head. Food is freshly prepared and a decent value for the money but the dishes are ultimately bland and too saucy. Even ordering sesame chicken extra spicy didn't even come close to what I'd consider "spicy". Don't get me wrong, Americanized Asian food gets two thumbs up from me but this stuff is just too bland.
The food is just OK. Ordered a bowl of hot and sour soup but it came looking more like hot and sour sludge. It was cooked with way too much pepper. Only 5 small pieces of chicken in the sweet and sour bowl. The sauce is also a tad too sweet. However, the pork egg rolls are crispy and delicious.
