Based on so many mixed reviews I was hesitant to try Peter’s for the first time. I’m so glad I did. I ordered General Tao Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice. Both had a rich, savory flavor and perfectly cooked proteins and vegetables. It wasn’t just salt and sweet, but depth of flavor. Definitely the best I’ve had in this neighborhood!
You don't go for the ambiance, you go for the food (and previously for a delightful banter with Peter). Brought friends from the Philippines, Thailand, Guam and another raised on Indonesian cooking, all fantastic cooks, all very particular. They LOVED it! Disclaimer, I'm distain loud, clattering restaurants where you must shout to be heard so this hole in the wall suits me fine. Can't recommend the soup, but my favorite dish is shrimp and garlic green beans....
My fiance and I have been ordering from Peter’s for the past 2 or 3 years, it’s the only place we get Chinese takeout now. We used to live in the Lakewood area and loved Szechuan (still delicious) but we can confirm that Peters is hands down the best we’ve had. Food is always piping hot and fresh when it gets here, they give generous portions and always get our order right. The sesame chicken is delicious and stays crispy even until the next day if you have leftovers.
