Fantastic, authentic Greek food by a great family owned restaurant. Pete's family does a great job with these unique flavors and traditions. Small, cozy atmosphere with a lot of history. But service can be European paced, to put it nicely. I would definitely come back and try more of the menu.

This place has been here as long as I can remember, and I have always loved it. It has changed very little over the years, and I am thankful. Everything on the menu is great. The avgolemono is the cure for the common cold. The leg of lamb sandwich is worth writing home about. Food is made to order, so don't come in a hurry.

We loved our experience here! We arrived right at 5p and were sat right away. It did start to get busy shortly after 5, but folks were greeted and sat right away. Our server was attentive, quick, and helpful with ordering choices. More importantly, she was kind! We had a Greek plate (big portion, delish!!!), beef souvlaki and chicken souvlaki. The only thing we didn’t enjoy were the green beans on one of the souvlaki plates. Excellent experience overall.

This used to be the best place in Denver to get Greek food, I have been coming here since I was 5yrs old with my parents and I'm now 40.Today was by far is the absolute worst experience I've ever had we waited for 15min before we got our order taken which ok they were pretty busy no big deal but then th gyros plate the meat was shaved so thin and small there was more French fries than anything else on the plate, the taziki tasted of only sour cream no flavor no cucumber the Greek dressing on my salad was more oil than vinegar and spices. The pita was hard. I was asked if I wants a refill only after we were done with our meal. This place has sadly gone downhill since Pete died and Takis is no longer managing it. I'm sad to say but I will not be going back since it feels like they're trying to change what worked for many years.

Super amazing food and amazing service. Super cute vibes inside. The spicy feta dip was so good. I got the gyro and it had so much meat and was super well priced for Denver, delicious. 🫶

We love Greece and Greek cuisine. We had a great dinner tonight at Pete's Central One!

Pete's was a lovely change from the humdrumness of our recent food routine. My husband and son had moussaka; I had a gyros plate.
we had tzatziki and pita as a starter.
The dinners came with a choice of salad or soup. We had salad, and I know adding lettuce to the classic Greek salad is not Greek...but the salads were delicious. Think of it, with the price of tomatoes and cucumbers going up, how often can you afford to make a Greek salad like they make in Greece?
Nevertheless the salads were delicious, and fresh and they had good kalamata olives and feta.
The gyro plate was savory with plenty of tzatziki, tomatoes, and pita. The moussaka's layers were potato (yes, that is traditional) and beef cooked with tomato sauce, bechamel, and grated cheese. Baked until they came together harmoniously.
One thing that makes this place so special is the way the customers are treated: like friends and family.
We didn't have wine or drinks with dinner, but we hoped to cap off the evening with a Greek brandy (Metaxas). This they couldn't do so they offered us ouzo on the house.
Many thanks! To our health!

please stop skimming on the greek salad.

They added a lot of lettuce (even carrot crumbs as if they took the salad from a plastic bag on the supermarket) as a filler (not really part of an actual greek salad), needs WAY more tomatoes.

My salad didn't even half 1/2 tomatoe, super disappointed, had only 2 pieces of tomatoes.

They add hot peppers instead of regular bell peppers (not unusual, but not classic)

They also don't add enough feta cheese.

You can do better, I was disappointed after coming back from Greece and craving a good authentic Greek Salad.
