This was the worst service experience I have ever received in Denver. As a member of the restaurant industry, I was just absolutely shocked. A few of us ate here for dinner. We received our waters and our server was gone for 20 minutes. We hadn't ordered yet. We flagged down another server and they notified us that our server was bartending tonight... as if we should have known this. No apologies, nothing. Upset and hungry, we ordered and they told us to flag any of them down if needed. But still, we had no server the entire time and no one checked in on us as our waters were clearly empty. Our food came - which, by the way, props to the kitchen, the food was fantastic. So delicious. However, one item did not come as I don't believe they put in the order. We had to flag down another server and the final meal finally came after one hour of us being at the restaurant. I was shocked. We were so upset that we wanted to just leave at this point. When we got the final bill, our original server finally came out and refreshed our waters (this is after over an hour). They didn't even say thank you, nothing, just handed our bill and walked away.I understand that we are all struggling with staffing due to COVID-19. However, you can also choose to communicate with your customers if you are low on staff. You can also choose to be accommodating and show some sort of respect to those who come to spend time and money to dine. It's apparent that there are issues with management, and it also closed again after we ate there. It's a bummer because the food was great, but unfortunately my group and I won't be eating here again.

I must preface that we were told as soon as we sat down that they were closing the next day and some staff had left, leaving them short handed for the evening. However, the food was great. I've been to Public School in LA plenty of times and are very familiar with their truffle frites, which I love! We also ordered the cauliflower appetizer, which also tasted great. I had a bbq burger with sweet potato fries. It was great as well. I have to knock off stars because it took almost an hour to get my drink! If they hadn't been closing down, I would have only given them one star because it's unacceptable. We ordered drinks. The server came back to tell me that they didn't have my drink available after about ten minutes. Another 5-10 minutes later, he came with the other two drinks and told me my other choice was not available either. Another 20-25 minutes later, I still had no drink and we had already eaten out appetizers and were well into our entrees. I was trying to be extra patient but this seemed ridiculous as it was not terribly busy. As a former server, I wouldn't have left the bar until that drink was made after the second order was put in. It should have been a priority. I had to stop my server and ask where my drink was at this point we had been sitting and eating for 45 minutes. He said he was sorry but it was just taking a little while. I asked him to ask the bartender to make it a priority since I had ordered my original drink almost an hour ago. He came right back with the drink after that, which was frustrating. That tells me it was either sitting there or she could have made it fairly quickly. I wish this place the best during these challenging times but I won't be back anytime soon.

The people are amazing, the food is amazing, the management are absolute garbage humans. I’m glad they’re closing down tomorrow

Big fan, and sad to hear from our server last night (8/1/2020), they are now permanently closed in Denver. Best of luck to all of the staff.

The hosts were very friendly and accommodated our two kids well. However no waiter came to our table for over 10 minutes, and I had to ask to get one. Didn't bring water for our kids. Burgers were very overdone. Waiter dropped barbacoa tacos on my lap, messing up my shorts. When bringing the replacement they didn't warm the tortillas, instead serving cold tortillas. Most of the tap beers were not available. Good social scene, but I would not recommend for families. Again the hosts and managers were very great. Also the buffalo cauliflower appetizer is a must!

I have been coming here for a couple years now and just thought I would let everyone know what a great place this is. Relaxed, the food is very good, never disappointed and the staff always makes my day. Keep up the great work.

Public school is quality, no doubt about that.Always greeted the second you step over their door mat. Staff is real nice, they always got your back. Will recommend the best things when ya ready to snack. And PLEASE when you go, get the IMPOSSIBLE BURGER, it's a must!!!! Best burger around, with flavors robust! So go check them out for a groovy-fun time. It might even motivate you to write a public school rhyme.

We took my son and his girlfriend here the last night we were visiting in Denver. We sat outside on the patio. The service was good. They had good choices of food and drinks for happy hour. My son got the PB&J burger and said it was very good. Will definitely eat here again.

Very good restaurant with great meals, even for the kids. However, the waitress seemed to be more interested by some single men than to serve us correctly. It was quite long and she forgot the desserts....

Was fairly disappointed in our visit here. It took them a while to notice us at the door to be seated. They had a lovely patio that had large dense trees. It looked like it might possibly rain and the server told us if they sat us outside we would not be able to move inside which I found strange (are customers just supposed to sit and get wet). Other than that the service is the downfall of this location. It is visually a beautiful place but and the food was pretty good. The server left and disappeared several times and could not speak to the beer menu.

I was visiting Denver from out of state. I had never heard of this place before. I am not sure if it's local to Denver, but I love trying to new places, especially when I travel somewhere new. We were seated right away. I ordered the peanut butter and habanero jelly burger, it was SO good! It was my first time having peanut butter on my hamburger! It seems odd, but it was the best! Forget ketchup, mayo and mustard! Moving forward peanut butter it is! ? Unfortunately, my fries came out old and burnt. However, the server kindly swapped for side salad, salad was mediocre. The server was friendly and accommodating! The wait for our food after ordering was oddly long seeming how it did not seem all that busy. Maybe they were short staffed due to COVID-19. I love that it was spacious, clean and had a warm and unique downtown vibe. I would recommend!

Food and service were good. Just a note about social distancing if that is important to you. We got there about 6:30 on a Friday night. It was busy but we had reservations. It started out fine but about 7 pm, even tho two out of the four high tops behind the bar were taken, a big group took the one in between the two occupied tables even though it definitely should not have been used. The bar tender told one of the guys they couldn’t sit there but he said the host told him to go there, as the host carried two more stools to the table for them. Then at the bar next to us, even tho it was sectioned off to only have two stools per “section”, a group of three came and moved a third stool into that section so it was right up against me, and staff didn’t say anything. I get restaurants need to make money but bring it up because if you care about that sort of thing you may want to go somewhere else.
