During a business trip to Denver I went to dinner at Sam’s twice. Both times were fantastic. I can’t remember the last time I stepped foot in a true, classic diner, but this place had me from the minute I walked in the door. The atmosphere was lively, the menu is a whopper with loads of choices, and the service was exceptional! My server Jamie L. helped me and a friend on our first visit, and when we went back the next night with more people she remembered us and stopped by a couple of times to say hello. She was awesome! Speaking of awesome, the food was delicious. Anything you might be craving, Sam’s has it, from breakfast favorites to classics like meat loaf to salads to Mexican. Man, did I love this place!

Stopped in for breakfast while visiting Denver and loved it! We shared the scratch-made cinnamon roll and chilaquiles, my husband added a side of biscuits and gravy. I had a tough choice between a mimosa or a latte — the latte won this time! Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly and was spot-on. The menu is huge, so you’ll spend more time deciding what to order than waiting for it to arrive. Everything was delicious, filling, and reasonably priced (around $50 for two). Highly recommend — there’s something for everyone!

While visiting Denver I was craving cornbeef hash with eggs and found this cool diner who served that. I came on sat noon and the place was crowded. I sat right away on the bar and the bartender was great and helped me right away. The food was good and service was excellent. The place is huge and I loved the style. Overall I had a great experience and I would recommend this place. If you in downtown Denver and looking for good breakfast I would definitely visit this place. Hope that helped...

Let’s start with, the food here was absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, it was fairly loud, making it hard to talk even just one person over. And because they were so busy, we visited on a Saturday around brunch, we didn’t feel like we had prompt service. We were seated relatively quickly, and the food was out incredibly fast. But we waited for 15+ mins to get the check and boxes.

We will likely return, but plan to get to go instead 😋

We usually stop in Sam’s when downtown but normally go to the other location in Aurora area. Our last visit to this location, we had slow service, chicken sandwich was very dry, and we had homeless banging on window right beside us and rolling around in sidewalk outside. Not greatest experience.

The food was just OK but the atmosphere and the service were second to none. I definitely will be going back when I'm in the area.

My husband and I went here because it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. There was very little wait even though the restaurant was busy! Servers are great at moving people in and out and the food came out quickly. That being said, it was so loud that we were having to shout across the table to hear each other and finally gave up and resorted to texting. Even our server was having to shout.

He got the chile relleno. The plate looked like the food was thrown on to it haphazardly (I know it’s a diner and not to expect 5⭐️ presentations). It tasted ok, but the chile itself had zero spice.

On the advice of my server I ordered the breakfast quesadilla with the pork green chile sauce. The best I can say about it is “meh”. The cheese was hardly melted and the tortilla only lightly toasted. The chile sauce was flavored ok, but had zero heat. Potatoes came out with zero salt.

I bet they have good days and bad, but when we make it back to Denver, I won’t make it back to Sam’s.

This may be the third or fourth time I've given a 5 star review. Because I'm off the opinion that we all can do better and should be improving to earn another star.

However Sam's No. 3 is a really great diner! And it's story is truly a unique one that's worth visiting just to know why they're No. 3, and what happened to No.s 1 and 2, and is there a 4 somewhere... Huge menu, great tasting food, decent value, and a charming diner atmosphere!!!
