I’m visiting from out of town and am so glad I stopped by! The staff was warm and welcoming, and the food was fantastic. Although there was about 40-minute wait for Saturday brunch, it was worth it. Brandi, the host, provided a delicious beignet and recommended the bison and fried eggs—both were amazing! My server, Maria, was attentive and even offered to make up for my not enjoying the green juice (a bit too spicy for me). Highly recommend this spot!

Sassafras has a great atmosphere for gathering and enjoying tasty, unique food and beverages! My husband and I had brunch there for the first time. The staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations. We're definitely going back on our next visit all the way from California. Cheers!

This kicked butt! The jalapeño cornbread and breakfast Mac and cheese were out of this world! Highly recommend getting there early cuz they will fill up fast and don’t take reservations on the weekend. Superb and excellent service! Super friendly and nice.

Great service. Very friendly. The chicken pimento biscuit is so good. They also offer an assortment of coffees with the options of coconut or oat milk. Sat at the bar and the bartenders were so friendly. Definitely coming back here.

This place is great! I think this was the best waffle I've ever had! My wife got the green tomato Benedict and loved it. We will be back.

Definitely my favorite breakfast place in Denver. The staff were so sweet and very helpful. The atmosphere was inviting and decorated very nicely. The food was absolutely exquisite as well. I suggest the butterfly tea and the lavender lemonade for drinks!

Food is decent but my primary reason for choosing Sassafras over other breakfast joints was for the incredible GF banana bread. They have now changed the ingredients and the banana bread is no longer gluten free. There's nothing particularly special about this restaurant now. Gluten free options are severely limited.
I had a wonderful experience at Sassafras American Eatery in Highlands. The food was fun and wonderful, and the staff were great. It's a great place to enjoy a meal.
