First time visiting this restaurant. Excellent service, happy hour drinks and food were great. The small plates were just enough

We got great service here on a Saturday night, double date night. We really enjoyed the small restaurant and quaint vibe. Had great wine, the food was good, some dishes were better than others. We particularly loved the chicken parm, and the tiramisu. Would go back for those dishes solely. We definitely want to go back and try the lasagna as it was sold out for the evening by the time we dined-in. Overall it was a successful double date night!

Amazing food and drink selection but unfortunately we were seated right in front of the door which meant not only were we constantly bombarded by a cold draft but we less than 5 feet from everyone waiting for a table. The 1 1/2 hour time limit made eating in front of people less comfortable than desired and we skipped dessert to ensure we were done on time. We will return because the food was definitely worth it and will hope for a better table.

i am gluten free and shells and sauce is (maybe was?) definitely one of my favorite restaurants in denver. for an italian restaurant it offers plenty of gluten free options that are so good and affordable! I have been going here for years!

I will say though my past TWO experiences I have ordered gluten free pasta and was given the standard pasta dish (NOT GF)! the first time i ate half of the dish, had to abruptly leave the table and ended up spending the rest of the night with my face in the toilet and lost two days of my life. The server comp’d my meal but it didn’t account for the pain i spent eating gluten for the first time in over 10 years.

i figured since i’ve gone here before and know the quality of the food, i would give it another shot when i was invited with friends. I ordered the gluten free pasta last night and when my plate arrived i noticed the pasta was the same as when i first got sick, i asked the server (the same server who initially gave me the non gf pasta actually) if it was the gluten free version, and she looked and took my plate back immediately to be remade. If i hadn’t asked i likely would’ve gone to the hospital!!! i spent the next 15 minutes waiting for my dish while my friends ate theirs.

i still really like this place but i can’t believe it happened twice where i said i had a gluten allergy and it was completely disregarded. i don’t know if ill come back but the food is fabulous!! i guess its safe to assume their servers/line cooks maybe dont take allergen requests as seriously as other places? i’m not too sure but i would still recommend if youre not gluten free/celiac!!

Delicious meals, at first the forgot my lemonade but the situation was quickly remedied and it was delicious overall, I would definitely go again and I do recommend it to others. It was also easily the best italian food I have had in a while and it was a great atmosphere all the were very nice and were very accommodating of my mom's dietary restrictions as well.

The food has always been excellent. However, there was a special of the calzone and a flatbread. We had each one and they were absolutely awful.

Catherine

We really like this restaurant. We live down the street and are new to the neighborhood. We'd never eaten upstairs, it's a nice cozy dining room. Service was good, and the food was great. Fresh bread brought to the table, delicious salads and fried Calamari to start. We had the cheese ravioli with sausage and meatballs, chicken piccata and the mushroom pasta with shrimp. Everything was delicious! We will be back again and again, it's a wonderful and warm spot.
