Freezing cold and they had to give blankets to diners. Apparently it's always that way. Bad prime rib. Terrible experience

I'm not sure what has happened with the Ship Tavern, but this Denver landmark is clearly on the decline. Menu prices have gone up significantly, food quality has diminished a bit, and menu options have decreased. Service was sub-par, with long waits for drink delivery, food delivery, water refills, busing of empty plates, and limited knowledge of the menu. The prime rib, a longtime signature dish, was already unavailable by 6:30 pm, and we weren't informed until 5 or more minutes after ordering. Even nearby bathrooms were in serious disrepair. What in the world is happening with one of Denver's historic gems? This is truly the worst Ship Tavern experience I've had in over 30 years of great experiences. Hopefully something changes. I may give it another chance, but would need some reassurances that things have improved. Too many reliable restaurants in Denver to spend a small fortune for a mediocre experience.

The restaurant needs some restoration. Seems a bit run down. We sat at the far end from the entrance next to the corner window. The window was dirty and had a long strip of dirt that ran down the window. The model ship in the window was covered with dust and appeared to not have been attended to in years. My sister had the crap cake sandwich which she said was very good. I had the fried oyster sandwich which was also good but difficult to handle. Servicer was friendly and efficient.

Food quality was not good at all. Our table was not ready when we arrived at the reservation time - had to wait 10 minutes

Nice location if your a guest at the Brown Palace Hotel. Service and food were both great.

The atmospher and location were gerat, and our server was atentive. I had the knife and forkplate, and either the sauce or the meat was so very salty that it nearly was inedible. The mushroom hoagie type sandwich was also extremely salty. The kitchen needs to tone doen its use of salt. I am happy to add salt if needed, but generally good ingredients nee less salt,.

Friday and Saturday nights are legendary in the Ship Tavern. Live music (Joh Kite on piano Friday, and his jazz quartet Saturday) and people singing while everyone enjoys great food and one-of-a-kind historic ambience.

We had a wonderful dinner at Ship Tavern (although I still refer to it as Ship's Tavern). I enjoyed the chicken schnitzel, and my friend had the fish and chips. My dinner was great! The chicken was moist and tender while the outside was crispy and crunchy. The sauce on the chicken added to the flavor. My friend found her fish perfectly cooked with the crust crispy and the fish tender. The wait staff were attentive without being intrusive.

We were excited to try an historic restaurant with a story . We thought that with history dating to 1932, that Ships Tavern would create a seafood chowder to remember. Oh, we will remember the pastiest , bland flavorless chowder ever. Chicken schnitzel that was not only dry , but repurposed salt as the main ingredient . A crab cake that resembled a mush that could not be replicated at home on your worst night of cooking . Sorry, but this ship has sailed , or worse , sunk . Sad story !

Classy Beer Pub design with superb limited menu American cuisine. Elk Chili with waffle is a great pair.

Food came quickly, but was a bit dry. Also the windows need to be cleaned and the items in the widow sills need to be dusted

We were introduced to Ship's Tavern on a downtown Denver history walking tour. We returned for lunch to meet a family member and found out it was my aunt and uncle's favorite place for many years. Love the atmosphere and the nautical decor. The soup and salad were wonderful.

For many years, The Brown Palace has been a Denver icon known for its beautiful ambience, excellent food and service. Then for a while it slipped a little. But I am so pleased that the "Old Brown Palace" is back, due I was told to new management. My family and I had a delightful birthday lunch. I had the Prime Rib which came with both au jus and horseradish sauce. It was cooked perfectly. The onion rings were fantastic! they had a light, flaky batter and came with a delicious dip. The French fries with parmesan and truffle oil are also very, very good. The staff is really out to please and make your dining experience exceptional. I will go back again & again & will take my out-of town visitors there.

The chicken schnitzel was not what was expected. Diner suggested veal instead. Wagyu Burger was a little soggy. The fish and chips were awesome! Also the clam chowder is still fantastic.
