I went to see one of my favorite local bands at the Skylark on Wednesday 3/27. The band was lovely as usual, drinks were fine and reasonably priced. However, the reason for my review being so poor is because I showed before the show started and literally couldn’t help overhearing the tattooed, female, brunette sound tech behind the booth loudly badmouthing not only the band that was about to play, but apparently every gig she had done sound on at the Skylark prior! As a customer who was excited to see my first Skylark show, I was frankly, rather surprised and offput by the lack of professionalism shown by someone who worked at the venue. No patron of any venue wants to hear from the SOUND TECH of all people that every show she’s done at this venue sounds bad? Unsurprisingly, the band gave a great show despite this, but the lack of tact displayed by a member of the Skylark staff was extremely disappointing as my first impression of the venue. I hope you hire more deserving sound techs in the future, this experience left such a bad impression on me. I’ve worked in the service industry, too! If you’re gonna talk poorly about people, maybe do it quieter so their fans can’t hear next time.

The bartender upstairs was rude? An ass? I dont know what word to describe him. I tipped $2 cash on a $6 beer and he said "that's it?" so i gave him two more dollars and he snatched it out of my hand and walked away shaking his head. Really weird.

Went to a concert recently (David Wax Museum) and enjoyed the venue very much. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Drinks just a bit pricey, didn't have any food. Very limited seating in the concert venue so get there early if you want a table or booth to sit at. We will go again.

Skylark was fun and exciting. We went to see a friends band play and do a recording for PBS. Duncan Maxwell, Dunk & the DFunk band. The band was Amazing. Full band with horns, you don’t see that a lot anymore. Very refreshing, energetic, cool & fun. We also got to meet Lady Los, such talent. Looking forward to see what these Artist do next.

They got rid of everything that made this place cool. All the great pin up art is gone. Used to be the best jukebox in town,and it's still there but not hooked up and there's a damn Internet jukebox now. I like my music curated in my dive bars. Oh,also no Pabst anymore

The bartender upstairs on Saturday December 16th absolutely sucked ass. She was such a biatch!! We asked for Hendricks and Gin and never gave us the correct gin, instead gave us cheap gin with soda. The drink was already wrong. We just dealt with it. When we called her out on it for the 2nd drink she said well you never noticed it the first time. Then when she couldn't handle the call out she ran off and called security. We were leaving anyways. Get a new job. Trash ass bar. Bunch of angry vegans.

I tipped a $1 for 15 seconds of work they did of pouring 3 beers for me and my 2 friends. And they got mad that I didn’t tip more… for 15 seconds of work… that they are already suppose to do. They wanted more. All 3 bartenders told me they won’t serve me and I need to leave because it’s private business and they can do that. That’s fine. that’s their choice and I honor that. But the reason was cuz I didn’t tip more. One of them even tried to take my full glass of beer back that I already paid for the product. How entitled can you be? Tipping is optional. I still tipped a dollar for 15 seconds of work they are already suppose to be doing any ways. They don’t do any cool tricks, don’t tell me any cool stories or anything informational or tip worthy… and I still gave them a dollar. I’ve worked Uber, I get tips sometimes and sometimes I don’t. I don’t cry about it, cuz it’s their choice to tip or not. What a horrible entitled staff that have. And the first guy to make a fit about me only tipping a dollar did say it’s fine at the end. But why even make a such big deal that I don’t tip more than $1 for 15 seconds of the work they did. I still paid in full for the product so why did he attempt to humiliate me openly for not tipping more? I wasn’t even rude to them, didn’t even say nothing to them before, was just talking to fiends and they just openly try to get me for that once they saw I only tipped a dollar. Terrible staff honestly. Don’t work there if you demand tips, or will take my drink away that is already paid for if I don’t tip you what you what you want and think everyone needs to tip you 5 dollar every time they get a drink or 2. Boss,Get less entitled bartenders that are chill and friendly and don’t cry about not getting big tips. greedy entitled folks. Cool place, terrible service workers in there
