Having the best sound system in Denver is no exaggeration. You have to go to experience the beauty in the music, art, and people there. I loved the black box from the moment I first stepped in and have been back sooooo many times! Would recommend to anyone looking for an intimate venue with amazing vibes🤩

The Black Box is more than just a venue it’s an experience. The moment you step inside, you know you’re somewhere special. The low lighting, the deep bass vibrating through the walls, the Funktion-One system dialed in just right… it’s the kind of place where you don’t just hear the music you feel it. What really makes The Black Box stand out is the people. Every show feels like a reunion of bass heads, artists, and creatives who truly get it. There’s no ego, no nonsense just pure appreciation for the music and the culture. Whether it’s a legendary headliner or a rising underground artist, you know you’re in for something special every time. As someone who’s been in the scene for a while, I can say without a doubt that The Black Box is essential to Denver’s music community. It’s a space that supports artistry, pushes boundaries, and gives both artists and fans a place to connect on a deeper level. If you love bass music, you need to experience this place.

Best underground bass venue in all of Colorado! I love the intimate vibes through out the venue

Hmmmm I understand people love this place, but what we saw was bass music by and for ppl with no sense of rhythm. It’s like crappy techno, just now with booming jackhammer bass. We got tired of the repetitive boringness, left early and met three women that they had kicked out for peeing in the same bathroom stalled together(apparently they have a security guard in the bathroom watching you, delightful). May I respectfully suggest to the management that if they want to attract people that aren’t doing crappy drugs in bathroom stalls that they should book something besides crappy music. There’s something really amazing out there, that fits even into small square boxes, called a Groove…dance into the light, caroline annes.

Best club in denver for localy produced underground electronic music. If you're looking to not hear remixes of the same pop electronic artists this is the place to go. The sound system is ace as well.

My most favorite venue in Denver. Very intimate! Best sound system around. Thunderous bass that rattles your insides and clear mids and highs. The definition is NOT lacking. The drinks are priced fairly and the bartenders are very nice and attentive. It almost makes you feel like you are in the OG meow wolf when you are inside, and it's just very charming. Until next time!

The Black Box is a haven for anyone who loves bass music. With its powerful sound system and intimate, underground vibe, it’s the perfect venue for dubstep, experimental bass, and everything in between. The energy is always high, with a crowd that’s passionate about the music. The layout brings you up close to the action, making it easy to fully immerse yourself. šŸ–¤šŸ‘¾

If you're going for bass music, this is the spot, no need to look any further. The best way for me to explain this is by the feel of the bass. Night before going to The Black Box I went to Ogden. At Ogden I felt the bass in my chest with a rattling wood floor. At the black box, i felt it from the feet up, my entire body. That should tell you enough, you won't be disappointed. Go.

I absolutely love this venue, go everytime were in Denver. Their drink selection is unmatched by any other venue I've been to, they have numerous craft beers in draft, great specials, and tons of non alcoholic options like Capri sun and Yerba mate. The sound is incredible, but what else would you expect from a funktion one rig? They really support the hell out of the underground here. You really feel at home when you're there. It would literally be a dream for me to play here, so I'm putting it into the ether!

i want to start off by saying that the box is one of my favorite venues in denver, and up until a few months ago i’d only had great experiences with staff and security. however, in the past few months me and my friends have had several negative experiences with one of the women who works the box office. she has been unnecessarily rude to me for asking simple questions, most recently i asked her if there was coat check that night, because there was no one at the coat check, but there was a note saying to go to the box office for inquiries or whatever. so i went over there and asked if they had coat check that night and she responded ā€œyeah so like i’m not gonna hold your stuff for youā€ in such a rude way that i was genuinely taken aback. it would have been just as easy for her to say ā€œsorry we’re not offering coat check tonightā€ another time, she questioned my friends medical oxygen tank, again in an unnecessary rude way because she ā€œhad never seen it beforeā€. my friends have had similar negative experiences. i don’t know if i’m blowing it out of proportion, but it’s just really disappointing because i’ve never had a good interaction with her beyond her just scanning my tickets when i first go in, and the interaction with a coat check kinda put a bad energy on my night for the next 30 mins. it just seems like that’s not the type of person you want to have greeting people who first enter, and she puts a bad spin on what is otherwise a great club.

Great local music venue for underground artists and events. Did a merch pop-up show there, met some great people

Parking: They have a paid lot right next to the venue, but can get filled up quickly. There are other paid lots around the area and free street parking but only for 2 hours
