Went in for Valentine’s Day last night and everything was so wonderful that we had to come back again tonight! Bartenders are spot on and make delicious drinks on and off the menu. There are also sooo many cool plants Definitely recommend if you’re in Denver

I used to love and recommend this place especially for special occasions, after my experience on Valentine’s Day I would feel guilty, disgusted ,and wouldn’t wish upon my greatest enemy to come here. I was told to sit at the bar by the greeter as the customers had just left and opened the spot for us, As soon as we sat down the only 2 bartenders there looked at us as if it’s an inconvenience for us coming in, After looking at the menu we noticed a happy hour EVERYDAY from 3-6:30 it is even listed on their website as so, it wasn’t even 6:30 when the bartender finally acknowledged us and when I asked if the happy hour is still on he looked me dead in the eye and told me no. That should tell you enough of how this experience was going to turn out in the end but it’s only the beginning. After receiving our drinks which were really good, the bartender was spewing hateful comments topped with swear words about customers and the type drinks they were ordering, all they were ordering were cocktails and he was vivid sayin why don’t they order Beer instead,I’m sorry but this bar is named a “Craft Cocktail Lounge” not a Sports Bar Pub. Everyone at the bar can hear what this guy is saying and the look of uncomfortable is shown everywhere, instead of the servers telling or even recommending him to not do that they instead just tell him it’s ok don’t worry, that doesn’t help and only encourages that behavior. He might’ve applied at the wrong job with the way he felt “pressured” to make simple drinks. It took 15 min after finishing my drink to finally get my receipt for a tab that they didn’t ask to keep open or close. The music was fire but so was the bartenders attitude, I should’ve just gone across the street with the barbershop that has a bar in it, at least I’ll feel comfortable and feel good after. I highly recommend going elsewhere unless you like knowing the bartenders are gossiping about you and the drinks you get, The Broken Cage is like a High School cafeteria now.

Had a great experience at the Broken Cage! Loved the drinks - there was one that was brought out in a small cage, another one where they light up the rosemary in front of you. Love that they also sell all the plants they have!
One of the best bars I’ve ever been too and also one of the best happy hours (half off some drinks and snacks). Every drink was fantastic but the real stand outs were the Unimportance of being Ernest, Moxa (one of the best cocktails ever with fun presentation), the Black Smoke for presentation alone, and lastly the Colfax Dirty Martini which I surprisingly loved as someone who loves pickle juice and olives but isn’t a martini fan - it was as it was described and every drink perfectly balanced. Also service was awesome. Definitely a highlight of my Denver trip.

One of the worst bartending experiences ever. Ive been a bartender myself in the past. Not only did the staff seem overwhelmed at how “busy” they were, but i couldnt even get a menu or a water after sitting for 20+ minutes. I then changed seats at the bar after a group left and yet…still no service. Just overheard a girl complaining about how busy she was. From someone that has bartended in Thailand before, let me tell you something, yall were not busy. I left without saying a word and went down the street to another bar and was greeted immediately and taken care of. Yall need new management and/or staff to better organize and run the show here, because tonight was an extremely poor showing of your brand.

This was by far the worst service we have ever received ever. We came here for a birthday reservation. We were sat immediately and then ignored for over 10 minutes. We then finally got talked to with the menus slammed down(server said nothing) and we ordered asap. We then didn’t see our server for 40 minutes (if only they gave his name). Multiple groups got served prior to us. We ended up having to go to the bar for our drinks and the bartender was not much nicer. There was maybe 15 folks there total. They were not busy. We brought our concerns up to the server as we requested our check and he didn’t even acknowledge them or talk to us. When he finally decided he should respond, he asked what he could’ve “said” different.(could’ve talked to us at all) and we said, talk to us at all or check on us or apologize for the late drinks and he laughed.
We will not be back. We wanted to love this place but the staff tonight was atrocious. We took our business elsewhere to other cocktail joints in the neighborhood and they ABSOLUTELY MADE OUR NIGHT.
