Great food and friendly service! Overall warm inviting atmosphere. Several reviews state that they only take cash- the we’re taking card when we went there March 2024.

Wow....what a place....the look of the place inside and out is a bit underwhelming......but don't let that discourage you.TRY SOMETHING NEW!The food was so good! The 3 of us got the middle priced "sample" platter....I don't know what any of it was but boy was it good!It had some lentil stuff...goat, chicken....and other things! Everything was so tasty! We will be back!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan

Traditional Ethiopian food with massive proportions for a great price. Definitely recommend going with a group and getting messy with their dishes (be prepared that you only use your hands to eat!). We have tried both vegan and non-vegan dinner options and highly recommend both.

This one dude there is so saucy and attitudey but he eventually warms up and the food is also great!

The food was delicious, and the staff was so friendly. Our kids loved the experience, too!

I had my first Ethiopian food here, loved it! Since I live pretty far away from here, I haven't been back for years. Came back tonight, the restaurant got renovated, which was a great surprise. Unfortunate, the food are not as great as before. We ordered the spicy lamb and spicy beef, neither of them are spicy at all. The flavors are still very good, just not spicy at all.

We come here very regularly. It's usually busy so come early if you want to miss the rush! The food is fantastic and the staff is very attentive. We drive almost 40 minutes to get here but it is so worth it.

The best Ethiopian food I have had in quite some time. We had the Kay Wot (Spicy Beef Stew) and Special Tibs (Spicy Sautéed Beef). Both were flavorful and wonderful. The Yater Alicha (yellow lentils) were very good. The Tekel Gomen (cabbage and potatoes with onion) was probably my favorite version of this that I have ever had. The place was clean. The seating was comfortable. The service was very good. All in all, this was an excellent experience.

I've been eating here for 30 years. It's the best Ethiopian restaurant I've ever been to, prices couldn't be better, and it's a perfect place to take a date, or just old friends to talk, because, even when it's packed, it's quiet enough to hear one another. If you've never had Ethiopian before, get one of the combo plates to share.

Just delicious! This place is much nicer inside than it appears from the outside. White tablecloths and everything, I promise. Parking on Colfax can be challenging. Be prepared to park a block or two away. Your food will take some time to prepare. They are making it fresh. Don't come here if you are in a big hurry. The food is outstanding. Between the two of us, we ordered the Special Tibs and the Beef Stew. They came out on a massive tray of Injera with cabbage and lentils. It was too much food for 2 people, but we enjoyed making a dent in it. Everything was delicious. Despite the cash-only references on Google, Ethiopian Restaurant does indeed take credit cards.
