We were excited to try a "downtown" eatery whilst on an overnight from the boonies. The high ratings gave us anticipation for a great and unique breakfast. We were pretty disappointed.
The dining room is beautiful - modern, sleek, open and very bright. Lots of tables and booths, and attentive wait staff. I ordered the pulled pork benedict on a biscuit, with poached eggs and hollandaise, tomatillo, avocado and potatoes on the side. First problem was that it was cold, and I mean Gordon Ramsey "stone cold". Like it had just come from the fridge. The avocado was a paste, not sliced fresh, and it was obviously cold, so it cooled the whole meal off. The pulled pork was very tender, but lacked that "low and slow" flavor I expect from pulled pork. One egg was about right, the other a bit underdone, so a little slimy. I am not sure why a biscuit was chosen over an English Muffin, but it was a fail as well. I also found a hair in my food (Actually in a bite I was taking) - always a huge turn off. The potatoes were amazing - nicely crispy and properly seasoned.
My guest had plain buttermilk pancakes with a scrambled egg and bacon on the side. All of it was really good. The pancakes were light and fluffy, and she got all of the extra butter she asked for. The bacon was great. But, the maple syrup was very dark with that slightly burned after taste that some dark maple syrups have. A lighter syrup would have been far better.
Our server was great. When I told him about the Benedict, he comped that portion of the meal, which I appreciated. There was another waitress also working tables who spent some time behind the bar talking to another guest. She was very loud and her voice carried obnoxiously all over the restaurant.
It's not a cheap place with most entrees between $16 and $20. So plan on $60 for two with some (non alcoholic) drinks, tax and tip. I'd have to put value at average. Even though my guest had the better meal, she said she would not go back given the chance.

The Original is a great breakfast spot. The breakfast tacos were legit, and huge! Added a side of the pork green chili, highly recommend.
Our bartender Nate was awesome! Very friendly and engaging.

What’s not to love? Located right across from the ballpark, The Original is easy to access, bright and welcoming. Spacious with seating options for larger groups, and coat racks next to each booth so a group of 4 can fit more comfortably. They have all the breakfast classics you’re looking for, plus a few you didn’t know you were craving. Portions are more than generous, so we both had food to take home and enjoy. The staff is awesome as well. Looking forward to coming back!

We had trouble getting through so many great options on the menu. Everything looked great and the 4 plates we got were all excellent. Quesadilla Chilaquiles and Chorizo Hash were amazing. Vibe and service were great, too! Vanessa and Brenna were friendly and help chase our hangovers away with recommendations, drinks, coffee, water and smiles.

Breakfast is so good, but service makes it worth coming back again and again. Brenna was our bartender and we got timely and delicious drinks and also had a fun time sharing our favorite deals in Denver.
Try the bloody, which is perfectly priced and has a great skewer!

I worked with The Original and Krystin and everything went so well. We ordered for about 20 people and were able to accommodate various dietary needs and everything was delicious! (A+ to Krystin for answering my 100 questions!).
