The Original Chubby's Denver

No idea if you can order ahead, but it would be a good idea if you’re in a hurry, otherwise the service is slower than molasses. No sense of urgency from the staff.

The restaurant is clean. It’s an interesting vibe of classic colorful Hispanic decor mixed with gangster rap playing in the background.

I’d tell you about the food, but I’ve been waiting for over 30 minutes on one burger, fries, jalepeno poppers and a smothered Mexican burger….

**edit** the most unflavorful fries I’ve ever had, no salt, no nothing. The woman behind the counter started an argument with another customer whom was frustrated with the wait time. It was silly.

If you want food that lives off its reputation from the days past and old Highlands natives this is just the place for you. To echo other reviews, it’s understandable that smaller orders come out first but waiting half an hour for two fries while multiple orders exactly like your order with a later number coming out before yours isn’t right. No matter how good old memories serve of how good it used to be.

Chubbys is all all time Denver classic. It’s a must visit if you’re looking for very good food. They have a wide variety of menu options. My recommendation is to review the menu and know what you’re going to order before you arrive. Their green chili is the best in town, nothing beats it.

Be prepared to wait 20-40 minutes for your food to be cooked. The plus side is it’s fresh.

Ordered SMOTHERED fries and let me say they are stingy with the chili. The chili covered only a quarter of my large fries. Honestly avoid this place it won’t ever be the same! I would like my money back not worth it

So easy to order online, no wait. By the time I get there, my order is ready! Fast service. My orders online have always been correct. The Original Chubby’s (the one and only) has by far the best food and consistency. Thank you 😊

Been coming here since I was a kid but the customer service and the owners are not customer friendly they would not be here if it wasn't for ther loyal long time customers they need to change their way they treat their customers.

Was the worst burrito ever the steak was dry and my boyfriend said it tastes like dog food .

I can’t believe all the reviews. I have read, especially about staff and that stink face they greet you with sometimes. Very rare there is one female who does not greet you like the rest of them. Shorter girl looks younger than the other two that are always there. They always give you different amounts of meat when you ask for it on your fries Something is always off and different. Never the same. This day that I was there last this individual didn’t have to wait in line at all, went straight ahead of the line and they helped him even though there was a line seems to be related to the owners in someway shape or form I believe someone said grandson or something. He took a group of friends to feed as well. As far as I know he did not pay at all. He was handed his stuff for free when I’m sure he’s only supposed to get something for himself for free. I can’t remember what name they called him by, but to see that in front of ussucks because we had been waiting a good minute for our food as numbers also get called weirdly I understand some orders are smaller than others, but still off everyone for us and after us was gone already and then this happens. And yet this individual got up a few times to keep coming back for more food, even if there was a line. I’m happy for him that he gets free meals especially if he his family but wow to take the biker buddies to eat too on the house is a little much. I forgot to mention the lady at the counter purchasing had been in our shoes, waiting on her food forever and the grandson just keeps coming up, asking for stuff and they just hand it to him in front of her. You could see her frustration too.

This place deserves 5 Stars simply because the food is THE BEST EVER!! ❣️☺️ It's my favorite and has been for over two decades. I especially love the Mexican Hamburger, smothered with Chicharron on top, highly recommend! The service is fast and the people that work there are sweet and generous. Love love love!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We love this place! Everytime we come to Denver we have to get it. Food is so so good and the atmosphere is always nice. The older lady who took our order was so upbeat and on it.
