The Yard Milkshake Bar

I honestly hate leaving negative reviews, but this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered a specialty milkshake and even pointed directly at it on the menu board when ordering. Apparently the cashier was a trainee (only two days in, according to the manager), and the wrong item got rung up.

After waiting about 25–30 minutes — and even leaving a tip — we realized the mistake and politely asked about it. The manager on duty, Shelly, was dismissive and rude rather than working toward a solution. At one point she actually took the milkshake out of my hand and threw it in the trash before offering any resolution, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. What made it more frustrating is that earlier we saw another customer receive the wrong item, and an employee kindly let them keep it while preparing the correct order. The contrast in how situations were handled was pretty striking.

Shelly eventually offered to remake the milkshake, but we didn’t have time to wait again, so we asked for a refund instead. We did get our money back, but the interaction itself left a really bad impression. Another customer even tried to ask us how long we’d been waiting, and Shelly quickly shut that down, saying customers shouldn’t be discussing that because “this isn’t a public place,” which felt odd and unnecessarily confrontational.

I am also a GM in the service industry and mistakes happen — especially with new staff — but how they’re handled makes all the difference. A little courtesy and professionalism would have gone a long way here.

So glad we tried a milkshake here it is so delicious and over the top. The cookie dough is amazing.

DELICIOUS!! we ordered the specialty smores shake and the mint mudslide shake, a bit of a wait but definitely worth it. The napkins are a bit scratchy but overall 10/10

The Yard Milkshake Bar in Denver 16 street is such a fun and memorable dessert spot. The milkshakes are huge, creative, and delicious without being overly sweet, and the presentation is amazing.

They have a cleaning station so you can rinse out your milkshake jar and take it home, and they even give you a free lid, which is such a nice touch. The customer service was outstanding—the staff treated me like family and made the experience even better.

Definitely worth the stop if you’re in Denver!

I went in for some ice cream and it was delicious. This young man Cooper was extremely helpful and kind. From a business owner myself, he had AMAZING customer service! Will return and tell my friends to come too!

No vegan options, not vegan friendly

Holy moley does it take forever to make a shake.

Milkshakes are $20 and much smaller than the menu photos would suggest. Staff was not friendly or focused on customer service. Disappointing overall. Shake was yummy.

You’ve NEVER had ice cream reimagined like this! I don’t care what you order off the crazy menu here, you’re gonna love it. If you’re a fan of ice cream, milkshakes, or sugar in general… this is the place for you.

This place has the best ice cream and milk shakes I've ever had . They were absolutely a little over priced i paid $8 for two scoops of ice cream in a cup and I order a oreo specialty milkshake that was awesome comes with a mason jar that you keep and its super fancy. It was almost $20.00 cause my total was $28.00 for those two items . And the guy had messed up because I ordered a cup but gave me a glass so he ended remaking it so we got 3 for $28.00. The only thing I can complain about is there were about 4 or 5 people behind the counter and I was trying to ask them questions and they cared more about there friends or taking amongst themselves. But over all great experience.
