Visiting town and found this spot. Cool place in Highland Square. Loved the area. The restaurant was hopping. Our service was great. The food was good, not great. We loved the bison meatballs and polenta. I have the gnocchi with pesto. It was good but very rich. My wife had the rigate with sausage and marinara cream sauce. She loved it, but I thought it was terrible. It had a very unique flavor that didn’t mesh with me. My son’s bolognese spaghetti was super good. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner experience.

Atmosphere was great, friendly staff and the food was stellar. Not too expensive at all, especially for the quality. Will surely be returning!

First time going to this place wo reservation on a Saturday during dinner time and the hostess was able to get us a table. The placed was PACKED! Our server was ok, I think he was the only server on the floor, so he was stretched very thin, but if he wasn’t the only server, then the service was not great. Dishes were good and plentiful. Tiramisu was 10/10

Food was fresh and good quality. Bit on the bland side but still food was delicious due to good ingredients. I ate the vodka cream pasta and my date had the truffle asparagus spaghetti. I'd come back but it's not cheap good for a date night.

Wanted to check out a new Italian restaurant for my birthday and this place had really good reviews. Unfortunately I left a little underwhelmed. For starters, this place is very small. Seems like they want to take as many people as they can and shove them all into a living room space area. It was loud and the tables are way too close together.

Let’s not also forget if you’re sat next to the windows on the “patio.” For some reason, the server kept turning off the heat lamps which was extremely annoying. We had to eat dinner in our coats because he would turn it on, then turn it off after 5 mins saying “it is hot in here.” When the entire time, my party was freezing. It was just so uncomfortable.

I put in my notes that it was my birthday and you would think the staff would take that into consideration and at least put a candle on the desert, but seems the server forgot or didn’t read our reservation notes. The food was great, but service was slow and the gentleman who is middle age didn’t seem to enthusiastic. For $25 a plate, I’d expect service to be a bit better and more engaging but it wasn’t. Take your money and time somewhere else!

We had the most amazing time at Trattoria Stella. We live in the neighborhood and we don’t visit this gem often enough! Service front Garrett was perfect and food was incredible. We’ll definitely be coming by more often!

The service and atmosphere were good, however, the food fell far short of our expectations. The bruschetta was soggy and had such an excess of toppings it was closer to eating nachos. The spaghetti arrabbiata was a touch undercooked and the sauce tasted like it was made from Hunts Tomato Sauce. Ultimately, I’ve cooked better Italian food myself.

The food was very average, I failed to see what the hype around this restaurant is. It has a cute atmosphere and limited seating, but I feel like I could have made better Italian food at home. The service was god awful as well. Our server was basically non existent. For the prices they charge I would have expected MUCH better

We have loved visiting this restaurant for the past six or so years. However, we have seen an obvious and disappointing decline. While the service has never been stellar, the delicious food and great patio/open air seating has accounted for our continued patronage. However, our last visit over the weekend was nothing short of unacceptable. In short, the restaurant is chaotic. They are understaffed, which I understand is extremely challenging. However, the servers are frequently visibly disgruntled and overwhelmed. There is a middle-aged man who sort of appears to be a manager but he comes across as extremely rude and frazzled. He acted as if taking our table was a huge inconvenience to him and did the bare minimum throughout our service. It was hard to get his attention and the wait time for everything from getting a water refill to closing out our tab and running our card was exorbitant. What’s worse is the food quality is also slipping. My pasta was severely overcooked and my husband’s pasta was quite undercooked. Our pastas were dry with minimal flavorless sauce. Additionally, the restaurant is filthy and disorganized. Our table was clearly used as a storage space and had several dirty/dusty/fingerprinted bud vases and tea light holders that never got removed while we were there. Super disappointing for a longstanding Denver restaurant in a wonderful location. There are not that many tables and most are tables of two our four, so it is quite confusing how the operation can be so disjointed and messy. I no longer recommend this restaurant to family or friends but really hope they can get it turned around.
