We’ve always loved the Highlands location, so we were excited to try the Colfax spot for our anniversary. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.
We had a reservation for the patio, but were seated inside. When we politely asked about the patio, the hostess didn’t respond and simply walked away. The table and menus were noticeably dirty, and the bread already on the table was cold and stale.
We waited patiently for 22 minutes, hoping someone would bring water or take our order. In that time, we watched three other tables that were seated after us get served promptly. It became clear we were being overlooked, so we quietly decided to leave and celebrate at home instead.
We understand that staffing issues happen, and it’s possible something was going on behind the scenes. But being seated, ignored, and not even offered water - while other guests were being helped - made us feel like an afterthought.
We stopped by for a little date night and we had a fantastic time! The food was phenomenal and our server, Marcus was absolutely amazing and very sweet! Will definitely be coming back for our next trip to Denver!

Got takeout from Trattoria Stella tonight and it was delightful. Fast service, nice FOH staff, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the Truffle Asparagus pasta and the cranberry salad (with a bomb creamy basil dressing). I will be returning for sure!
