I really wanted to love this place, and the service certainly made a strong case for it. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make the experience special. From timely drink refills to thoughtful explanations of each course, their hospitality was the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the omakase itself didn’t live up to the level of service. Several courses felt underwhelming—some pieces lacked freshness, others were oddly paired, and the overall progression didn’t have the balance or excitement I usually expect from an omakase menu. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t worth the price point. If the food matched the quality of the service, this could easily be a top-tier spot. For now, it’s a place with wonderful staff but an omakase that needs more refinement.

the drinks server corrected me on something someone else said that he assumed I said and it made us realize we were viewed very differently than the guests who weren’t as excited to be there, but were far more comfortable spending hundreds on bottles of sake. It was a very special dinner for us, and I wish that wasn’t a stick out memory I have from the night. Food and chefs and host were all fantastic.

What a beautiful experience from start to finish. From being welcomed with an apéritif to learning about the sake parings from Jeremiah. Chefs Paul and Ethan took care in the cuts and presentation while giving insight on the food’s origin and how it should be enjoyed. The fish melted in your mouth, the preparation of the sashimi was incredible (I dreamt about it that night). Everything was better than I could have imagined and I felt grateful to taste each bite.

Truly unforgettable. Ukiyo delivers one of the most thoughtfully curated omakase experiences in Denver, and it shows in every bite. My date and I opted for the sake pairing and were blown away by the balance and precision of flavors from start to finish.
The atmosphere is intimate and feels like a well kept secret. Every course was plated beautifully and introduced with care — from the house-baked bread with whipped butter to the perfectly executed seafood and meat dishes, each bite told a story. The sake pairings elevated the entire experience and were spot-on with each progression of the meal.
This place is a gem. If you’re looking for an elevated, intentional, and truly delicious omakase in Denver, this is it. 10/10.

The team always finds a way to surprise me with unique, playful flavor combinations that make each course feel special. You can tell a lot of thought went into designing the space—it’s not just beautiful, but also cozy and inviting. Even the restroom has great lighting and a stylish touch!
One of the highlights for me was the tuna experience. Watching the chef skillfully break down a giant tuna right in front of us was unforgettable—and the tuna itself was incredibly fresh and flavorful.
If you’re looking for a sushi experience that’s thoughtful, exciting, and consistently high-quality, Ukiyo is a must. I’ll definitely be back again!
