I am not sure what happened. Been a long time patron since the 90's. Not this location. Dropped in a year or so ago, and it was fantastic. Just like it used to be back in the day. We came in today after a movie. All of us expecting the good old Wahoos. The place smelled like spent canola based fry oil. The menu is completely different and the staff is also new. We stared at the new menu trying to find our usual suspects and decided to not even try any new options.
Wahoo's never smelled like a grease trap. That was part of the appeal.
I would suggest switching to a soy based oil for frying. Canola had a horrible smell when used for frying. If you are worried about allergies, opt for more expensive options containing peanut and rice bran. But yikes. We didn't even need to eat there to know it's not worth it.
It's a sad day for me.

The food here is always fresh and tasty. So many great options, including vegan. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Plenty of parking and seating options both indoor and outside. The only downside was the music was a little loud for easy conversations.

Wahoo’s Fish Taco is a solid choice for a good meal. While I didn’t try their fish tacos, I opted for the Hawaiian Onion Ring Burrito, and it did not disappoint. Craving something fried, I got it chimi-style with queso, which was very tasty and filling. The burrito had a hint of spicy salsa—just enough to notice without being overpowering. The restaurant was clean, and the welcoming server was super nice. She let me know that because it was Sunday, a section of the menu was on “happy hour” with items at half off. If I’m in the area again, I’d definitely return. I highly recommend Wahoo’s Fish Taco if you’re in the mood for a satisfying bite to eat.
I don't know who the guy is behind the register, but he acts like he owns the place. Every time I've eaten at Wahoo's, the person behind the register acts like they own the place: super helpful, super knowledgeable, super friendly. That's how all employees should act. Great food, friendly service.

Beware! They pop up adding a tip and then of course don’t tell you that they already added 5%. It’s not right that you do this. This is simply a way to increase prices on you without letting you know. I won’t be back until they stop this behavior.
