Unfortunately, I have forgotten our waiter's name, but he was extraordinarily friendly and knowledgeable. And the food was excellent, bar none.
Excellent experience. Early Sunday dinner not crowded. Service was very good, attentive but not overbearing. All the food was perfectly prepared. What definitely go back.
Our server didn't seem happy to be there. Maybe she was having a bad day. We will try it again at some point because we really think she impacted the experience.
We had the smoked hamachi nachos that were really good. The sea bass and salmon dishes were also good. The maple cheesecake had no maple flavor at all and why ruin it by serving it on chocolate? the caramel bread pudding was way too salty! when one or more people in the party are only drinking water, probably a good idea to leave a full bottle of water on the table.
Food at Water Grill is consistently among the best. In the past service has been excellent as well. On this particular occasion we felt the service was mediocre at best. Tuna tartare, and oysters were great appetizers. Sea bass, Cioppino, and Shrimp Scampi are excellent main dishes. Server was not attentive, and almost dismissive. He managed to sell us on a very nice bottle of wine only to find out it was not available. A different bottle was then offered at an up charge. What happened to restaurants making it right by the customer when they are out of a certain bottle of wine that they spend time selling you on? I detest having to write negative reviews, so let me reiterate that the food and the drinks at Water Grill locations are always absolutely Fantastic! Typically service does match, but on this particular occasion we were left disappointed.
Restaurant was very nice. Waiter was good. The food we had was ok. We had nice wine and just wanted a light meal. I had the cod and chips and both were luke warm. My friend had lobster roll and she said it was ok not great. Food needs to be hot when served.
As always, the food and service were amazing. I've been here many times and I've always had a memorable experience.
The oysters and seabass were absolutely amazing! Unfortunately the tuna tartare was not great (not edible) and the $150 crab legs were not overly fresh. Lobster roll and sandwich were both very good. Kind of disappointing since the last time we dined there was excellent! Our server was very nice and attentive.
I had a lovely lunch at Water Grill this week after visiting the Denver Art Museum. I was immediately provided a nice table in the bar area, which was comfortable, clean, and located in a well-appointed area.
I order the cioppino and a glass of Sancerre. The order came out perfectly cooked across all ingredients and was a very generous portion. I was very happy with the quality and variety of the seafood, including a full front shoulder of Dungeness Crab.
Jon provided excellent service, as did the two servers who stopped by my table. Unfortunately, I didn't get their names. I had a nice conversation with Jon after my meal.
At 17th and Market St. it is convenient to Union Station, Larimer Square, and many parking garages.

They have removed the best dish in the menu. The 45 day dry aged ribeye and replaced it with a mediocre ribeye for 10 dollars less than the original. It used to be 77 dollars.
Fries, for 12 dollars. You get regular fries fried in fish oil.
The clam chowder is hands down the worst I have ever had.
Waiter was good and atmosphere good as always
Sadly, not coming back

Best seafood and service in Denver. It was my moms favorite restaurant in Colorado and now me and my girlfriend share everything from casual dinners with friends to intimate dinners here. The service is wonderful and weather your stomach is an aquarium or youre thinking about trying seafood for the first time this is your spot. The oyster selection is always abundant and changes each time I go. The drinks are equally fantastic, I can always go for a mezcalero! Highly recommend giving it a try for a special occasion or to treat yourself to a nice dinner! Thank you for so many great dinners and memories! This will forever be one of my personal favorite restaurants in Denver!

I had an outstanding experience at Water Grill in Denver tonight, thanks in large part to our server, Trey. The restaurant already has a great reputation for fresh seafood and an upscale yet welcoming atmosphere, but Trey elevated the entire evening.
He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offered spot-on recommendations, and checked in at exactly the right moments without ever feeling intrusive. You could tell he genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. Every dish—from the oysters to the entrees—was fresh, beautifully presented, and perfectly prepared, and Trey’s service tied it all together.
If you’re dining here, do yourself a favor and ask for Trey.
