I’m not sure how many times I’ve given 5 stars, but this restaurant deserves every one of them. The food was incredible! We tried a variety of dishes, including tamal de pato, ceviche, albóndigas, fish, chocolate ice cream, and more. Everything was outstanding, from the authentic flavors to the delicious sauces, moles, salsas, and fresh corn tortillas. I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy exceptional ethnic food—or if you’re open to expanding your palate!

Xiquita's menu is a work of art. The gourmet presentation of each dish is simply stunning, but most importantly, the flavors transport you directly to the central and southern regions of Mexico, where culinary traditions are deeply cherished and passed down through generations. Chef Rene Gonzalez has crafted not only a visual delight in every plate, but also a nostalgic journey with each bite.

We were hyped about this new place. I thought it could be similar to Alma Fonda Fina, unfortunately, the main similarity is the price point. Pretty expensive for just above average Mexican food. We did enjoy the ceviche, but we don’t recommend the pork belly, it was dry like a pork chop.

The food and drinks were good ! But the bartender Tiffany treated us really bad and cut us off when we only had three drinks! As a friendly person and a customer service person ! She is not good to be behind the bar. Not friendly and acted like she was the owner.
I was eager to try this highly-rated restaurant with friends but left feeling disappointed by both the food and service. Having recently visited Mexico City and experienced its vibrant flavors, I had high hopes, but they fell short. None of the dishes stood out—some sauces were overly spicy, while others lacked depth. Our large party was seated in a secluded area, which was ideal for conversation, but service quickly became sparse. At times, we had to find and pour our own water, and drink orders were delayed or would never come to the point of reordering from different servers who would spontaneously walk by. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the anticipation.

This restaurant really hit the spot in the neighborhood. We decided to go here and the staff were great. A good amount of seating, great menu in both English and Spanish, good atmosphere, and most importantly, amazing and unique food. Get the beet tacos and their Albondigas meatball, both of those entrees were excellent and delicious with flavor. Get their hot chocolate ice cream as well since that was a smooth dessert. Overall, we really loved this place, especially after seeing the entire restaurant packed. Highly recommended for Mexican food!

We absolutely loved Lucina so we had really high expectations but left a bit disappointed. We tried dishes from the Masa section and the food was just okay, not a single dish was memorable. The Tamal de Esquites was very bland. The waitress advised that Masa dishes are meant to be shared but when we ordered Taco de Pato (with duck) only one taco was served and it was impossible to split it. The cocktails were tasty but the food wasn’t our favorite.

I was so excited about trying Xiquita for the first time & I’m glad I did! I was impressed with not only the presentation of the dishes, but the flavor as well. I couldn’t decide on a favorite but the asada & the tartar were my top two favorites.

I'm quite particular about my food, so it takes a lot to impress me. Believe me when I say the flavors were an absolute delight for my taste buds. The food was incredibly delicious, the cocktails were top-notch, and our server Dylon (hope I got the spelling right) provided exceptional service. My husband and I both agree that this place is our top favorite in Denver.

SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! Xiquita is more than just a meal—it’s an immersion into Mexican and Spanish culinary traditions. This place isn’t about the Tex-Mex staples but rather serves up the depth and diversity of Mexican cuisine. It’s perfect for anyone wanting a true taste of Mexico without the passport.
