This place --a long-time fixture, that had been going down-hill for quite some time-- shut down quite some time ago... several months. As locals, we were very happy to see that it was purchased and is being COMPLETELY renovated/rebuilt. It looks to be nearly done (and VERY nice)! The last time I checked, the small-town grapevine indicates it should be opening some time in September... From the looks of things, I'd say late September, early October. I'd originally heard it was going to be a sports bar (which honestly, I wasn't particularly keen on), I've heard since then, that it's going to be a steakhouse. Stay tuned! ;-)

Sunday morning, 10 am. Walk in, see no 'wait to be seated sign' so I find a seat. Many tables left dirty, not cleared of food/dishes from previous guests. One waitress who doesn't even look at me for 11 minutes. I left.

Went for breakfast. Food was "as ordered", nothing noteworthy. Issue I had was with I'm guessing the cook/owner. Our waitress was new, a little forgetful but totally fine. Not a issue. Meals came out but my son's pancake went to the wrong table... I chuckle as there were only two other tables occupied. The cook/owner (old guy) came out to inform us what had happened but in the process he elevated his voice and tossed out a "SORRY" with both hands raised from his side in a confrontational manner. He then proceeded to blame his new waitress. I simply said it's your business and if you point blame to someone, you should remember that there are at least 3 fingers pointing back at you and that he shouldn't throw his waitress under the bus. He retreated back to the kitchen and we finished our meal without further incident. I read through a few reviews and it was mentioned that the cook was a character... well he was. So I knocked off 2 stars for the cook, and another star for how back the place was presented. The place needs a facelift and someone to clean the bathrooms. We won't be back, just not a place I will support.

I only write reviews if the service/food was impeccable or if the service/food was absolutely atrocious. In this case it was the latter. We were traveling through coming from Ouray and headed home to Phoenix. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns and bacon. The biscuits weren't biscuits, they were tube canned rolls you get at the grocery store. The gravy had no flavor. Hashbrowns appeared to be the frozen kind from the grocery store and bacon was severely undercooked. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito and it had hot dogs in it!! Never got a refill on any drinks. Bathroom filthy.I wish we had waited till Cortez to stop and eat. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Save your money head to Cortez. Weak coffee. Food subpar. Hash browns tasted like rubber. Had to ask twice for cream and twice for the toast that came with the breakfast. There was one other table in the restaurant and it took 30 minutes to get our food with a staff of 4. Also, if your looking for a nice bowl of fresh oatmeal they only had instant. It took them about 15 minutes to tell us that. On the bright side the pancake was decent, but lukewarm.
We have been coming here for decades. Stopped this morning to get sandwiches to go. The lazy attitude and then the "we don't fix sandwiches till 11". You can't make a $9 sandwich when your not busy?!?!? Used to be the spot we looked forward Too. Gone with the wind! Good luck.

Employees have horrible hygiene. Ordered a breakfast burrito without cheese or ham and got a tortilla filled with old bacon. Overall terrible service do not recommend. Will not be going back

First time ever eating here an the food was horrible an they didn’t even get my burrito right at all! I got a breakfast burrito that’s supposed to have hash browns, bacon an eggs. Minus ham and cheese. WHAT DO I GET???? I burrito covered in cheese an they only put bacon in it an the bacon tasted so horrible an nasty like they just use old bacon or not good bacon. Everything was horrible even the smell was just disgusting ?
