Ponderosa Restaurant

This place --a long-time fixture, that had been going down-hill for quite some time-- shut down quite some time ago... several months. As locals, we were very happy to see that it was purchased and is being COMPLETELY renovated/rebuilt. It looks to be nearly done (and VERY nice)! I live in Texas and I'm traveling on my motorcycle through Colorado, always looking for the mom and pop diners,What a gem, it was about 10 minutes till closing time 2:00 p.m., so ask him if it was okay to eat or I'd be happy to go somewhere else and they said no come on in they're still open I was the only one there, I just had the best roast beef I ever had in my life other than my mom's, The waitress the chef the owner everybody was out chit chat talking to me about the city...read full review

My grandma was telling me about this resultant. She worked here in 69 and 70 when my grandpa was there logging in the mountains. She talked about a green chili omelet as the special on Wednesday. She might be off on her days her memory isn’t what it used to be. She can’t remember the name of the lady that owned it but talked about how kind she was.
