We are NC locals who like to support local businesses & have visited Artisan Bakery on a number of occasions. IF you can get a park that is!! The cabinet bakery selection is pretty good, strangely tho, you don't normally sell plain croissants for a coffee from there! I wonder why... Anyway, please don't microwave croissant .. it is fatal for them! Flat white coffees sadly remain of inconsistent quality - more likely to be too milky, too weak & too lukewarm! .. despite our preference requests .. it's a shame. On the plus side, the 'seconds' selection is generous & the seeded breads are delicious.

An amazing bakery with the worst parking ever. Good food but where they serve you if you want a pie of savoury heated options it is past where you order!!

We have visited the Bakery several times whilst on holiday visiting family in Rangiora. It has a wide selection of bakery items/breads/cakes/cakes etc as well as a restaurant selling a variety of meals to suit all tastes. First floor has a viewing area to watch the Bakers at work and a play area for kids.

The pie's pastry. The base was that hard it was like cardboard and I found 2 very thin slices of mushrooms ? in a beef and mushroom pie. Not a lot of filler.

I was imagining we'd find this place to be a typical small town bakery, with the usual sandwiches, pies and fried food. Very pleasantly surprised that Artisan is a much larger more professional and more pleasant place, the kind you'd more expect to see in a larger city. Comfortable seating, friendly staff, great selection. Eggs Benedict - great. Iced chocolate - great Chocolate milkshake - great. Hot cross buns - absolutely outstanding, we've bought a dozen to go. Every time we visit Christchurch from now on we'll find time to visit Artisan.

We visited this restaurant on the morning of 24th Dec 2021…..or did we? We were a group of 4 - all 55+. 3 of us showed the Vaccine Pass to the man at the door. All okay. We were waiting for the 4th person to show his Vaccine Pass. For whatever reason, this person couldn’t FIND his Vaccine Pass on his phone. Of course, he KNEW he had it on the phonenband had saved it somewhere. In the meantime, the duty at the door changed from the man who had seen our 3 Vaccine Passes to a young girl. As our friend couldn’t find the Vaccine Pass on his phone, he called the National Covid-19 Helpline 0800 358 5453, which was picked up immediately. The officer at the Helpline confirmed that our friend had indeed RECEIVED both doses of the vaccine, and was happy to confirm it to the girl at the gate too. But the young girl wouldn’t accept to listen to the Helpline and insisted that she wants to SEE the Vaccine Pass. She called her manager. We explained the situation to the manager, and requested consideration. The manager too did not accept our request. We have lived in Christchuch for a total of 100 years, between the 4 of us. Today, for the FIRST TIME, we saw someone being so rigid. Kiwis are always trying to find ways on how to get things done, rather than how to be a hurdle. But today’s experience was opposite of the norm, which is why I am posting this. I know we should have all SHOWN our Vaccine Pass. It was simply that one of us couldn’t SHOW it on that day. But sometimes, one has to look at the circumstances and make a call / slightly bend the rules. There is such a thing as being “reasonable”, particularly when an officer on the Healthline was willing to confirm the actual status. P.S. our friend FOUND the vaccine pass on his email a few hours later.

I was greeted by a very pleasant gentlemen who asked for my vaccine pass. Then inside the friendly assistant asked what I would like. Although she missed a good opportunity to ask if I wanted something else, I added that I would like a coffee as well. The food was excellent and the coffee great. I was very impressed with the young lady that delivered my coffee. Very polite and wished me merry Xmas.

My second time here. Lovely cafe & lovely staff with plenty of tables available at busy times. I found parking difficult with my elderly friend today with no parks available onsite. Otherwise a very nice experience.

We were a group of ten so had booked a table upstairs and very glad they had a lift as my companion cannot manage stairs. The place was very busy being a weekend lunchtime but staff were courteous and efficient. The choice of food was so big it was hard to choose and next time I will order at the counter first before heading upstairs as service is brisk and so many goodies sold out so quickly but I enjoyed my quiche very much followed by a delicious custard tart. Coffee was excellent and service was good.

We had visited this bakery previously for cakes but have never tried the breakfast before. Wow, this is top notch fare, have had lower quality breakfast in 5 star hotels. The food and the presentation is excellent and they use good quality food which makes all the difference. Thoroughly recommend this place. Well done Artisan Bakery.

Had heard mixed reviews from friends and family so stopped in here to grab a quick bite to eat and make up our own minds before heading back home. Ordered 2 pies (1x mince and cheese, and 1x potato top) and 1 sausage roll. Customer service was great. Car parking can be an issue and parks not overly big. Got these items as takeaway and sat at a nice park just down the road. Sausage roll - decent size, flakey pastry, flavour and meat not quite what we were expecting. Wouldn't buy again. Mince and cheese pie - decent size, flaky pastry, not as meaty as we expected, good amount of cheese. Would buy again. Potato top pie - decent size, flakey pastry on bottom, top of potato burnt, nice flavour meat, but potato/meat ratio all wrong (got a little better in middle, but then back to too much potato to meat ratio). Wouldn't buy again. Won't be back as there are plenty more to bakeries in Rangiora to try. If the standard pies etc are not what we like, no point in trying their other flavours.

This is a great bakery, however there are one or two staff members who are bringing the good work of the others down. I went there to have a coffee and got spoken to extremely rudely because I stood in the wrong place. There are ways of talking to people and maybe she was having a bad day. However so was I and the thought of a coffee as a pick me up was meant to be a treat. The person who served me in the end tried to make things better and seemed embarrassed by her work colleagues attitude to customers.

I had received less than average service and complained, their response was amazing, and they responded by sending me a voucher for more than I had originally spent. Their food is amazing, always loads of people there so parking can be difficult.

We had lunch at the Artisan Cafe about 3 weeks ago. We had our 15 month old grandson and daughter with us. Our grandson is a little Social l butterfly and loves “chatting “ to every one , full of smiles and people seem to enjoy this. My daughter put our grandson in a high chair and he immediately started engaging with all those around him. A young girl delivering food nearby us stopped to talk with him. Regardless of her busyness , she showed great interest In our little grandson every time she passed by and he thoroughly enjoyed her interest in him smiling and chatting away. He’s quite a little flirt with the ladies. Our food did not take long to arrive and our grandson thoroughly enjoyed our choices for him. The coffee was superb and we all enjoyed our lunch. It is very much a family cafe / restaurant , lots of variety in choices, helpful staff and very efficient whilst being child friendly. Our daughter enjoyed seeing her little boy having such a good time as there are not many baby suitable cafes to take a little one to, when they get past the ‘ tiny baby stage’ as it’s not pleasurable for our daughter if he start complaining and struggling to try and get out of an unsuitable high chair. We have found a winner at the Artisan in Rangiora . Thank you for providing such a lovely family environment. Oh and our little grandson loved his club sandwich and the small meat pie he had so much , I took 1/2 dozen little pies for our freezer Home for him and the staff obligingly got cold pies for us to take. We shall certainly be returning.

We had Breakfast at Artisan Bakery, High Street, Rangiora. A two storied building with plenty of restaurant space downstairs/upstairs. (A play area for the kids as well...)There is wheelchair access, from a large car-park in front if the Bakery. Friendly staff at Artisan, A huge range of cabinet food is available. Try their 'Special Hot X Buns......A pleasure....
