The Black Heron is one of my favorite places to grab an incredible drink—whether you want something alcoholic or zero-proof. The staff are consistently attentive and genuinely friendly. I highly recommend stopping in for a drink and relaxing in the lounge, or heading in on the weekend for dancing. It’s truly a hidden gem!

The bartender literally left the bar unattended to go smoke cigarettes outside with her friends, causing us to walk outside in the 30 degree weather, around the building & all the way to the sidewalk on Main Street to get her… Super unprofessional. Also have never seen a bartender fill a shot glass 3/4ths the way to the top when measuring a drink, then get defensive after being called out on it. Not sure if all the other bartenders are as entitled and rude as the blonde one whose face didn’t move & reeked of cigarettes, but if I were you I’d avoid this place.

We stumbled across this on a walk in the downtown area while on vacation. This lounge had the BEST espresso martini we'd ever had ! And the bartender , Kristen and door greeter, Jake, were both very kind and really cool to talk to! We went back several times while on vacation here. Highly recommend!

The drinks are SUPER delicious and the live music is awesome!! Only thing is that the glasses are a bit dirty and it's a lil sticky in there... Just needs a bit more attention to cleanliness! Still worth a visit, bartenders are awesome :)

What an incredible place that has opened up in Durango. The set up from the lounge to the dance floor is incredible.
Please keep supporting the great DJs and talent.
One request from the management would be reduce the amount of trash and single use waste of recyclable items. I didn’t find anywhere to recycle the water glasses or aluminum cans.
If you encourage customers to bring in their own water bottles, it would save you a lot of clean up and trash hassles. You can have customers show that the bottle is empty at the door to ensure that people aren’t sneaking in alcohol.
