Been going here for as long as it’s been open. Durango had a ton of good restaurants, this is top 5 for me, and top in its category, hands down. The staff is friendly, they always check in with you and often. The prices are fair, and the lunch special is particularly affordable. Incredible pad Thai and curry.

Inedible. Somehow Durango has in the dubious distinction of being the only town in America without a decent Thai restaurant.

The staff was friendly and nice, and the food overall was flavorful. The Panang curry was tasty and loaded with veggies; however, the curry lacked the creamy flavor I expected and was quite watery. Additionally, the Panang curry was served in a chipped bowl in multiple places. This is a food safety hazard for customers, and it’s important for the restaurant to address this—it’s simply part of the cost of doing business responsibly.
We also ordered Singapore noodles, but they weren’t brought out right away—they arrived when we had almost finished our meal. It seemed like the dish had been made and sitting out for a while and server just forgot to bring it over. The noodles and veggies were good, but when we pointed out how cold the food was the server took a spoonful of noodles, touched them, reheated only the noodles, and brought them back while leaving the veggies and tofu cold. For a dish priced at over $16, it would have been more appropriate to prepare a fresh plate, especially considering the cold weather outside.
Overall, the food was decent, but closer attention to customer care, food safety, and proper handling would significantly enhance the dining experience.

The curry might as well be soup.
I ordered red and green curry to go, and when I got home it had fully separated, with liquid sitting at the bottom. I mixed it and then served, but my food was lacking in substance. It was almost all liquid; watered down, lacking in creaminess and with very sparse solids.
I will never come back to this place

Chang Thai Restaurant is an absolute gem! I wish we closer so we could visit more often! We had the cashew chicken which had exquisite, authentic flavors that clearly come from a deep love of Thai cuisine. The owners and staff are so friendly and hardworking, always striving to make sure the meals are just right — their dedication truly shines through.
The mural on the side of the building is beautiful and adds to the restaurant’s welcoming charm — it’s the perfect reflection of the creativity and care you’ll find inside.
If I had to note one small thing, the portion sizes could be a bit larger for the price. However, the incredible flavors and warm atmosphere more than make up for it! Highly recommend Chang Thai for anyone who appreciates amazing food, friendly service, and a place that truly puts heart into what they do!

Pineapple fried rice and drunken noodle are good. Tom Kha soup could be cooked more to have more complex favors.

Everything was so good. I had the duck rice, my daughter had the pho and my baby had the orange chicken. Hubby had yellow curry! We topped it all off sweet mango sticky rice.

Decent spot but nothing that really stood out. The flavors were a bit muted for Thai food. Staff were nice, the place was small and humble. It wasn’t a bad experience, just not one I’d go out of my way for.

I think we ordered the wrong items… I was expected more based on the ratings. The orange chicken pieces were too small, dry, and hard to eat. The garlic tofu was waaaaaay too salty and couldn’t taste any garlic. The wontons in the wonton soup were not wontons, they were dumplings and taste alright. Maybe they should just delete all the non-Thai dishes on the menu if they are not good at cooking non-Thai dishes. Also, the price is too high which doesn’t match the quality of the food.

3 went for dinner we were first customers. Arrived at 6:30but left at 7:20 when 2 of our meals had yet to arrive my husband said his meal was delicious but got cold waiting for our meals. The restaurant filled up and several other tables experienced the same: place order and only one meal was served. They meanwhile had a steady flow of takeout orders. Today it’s August 3 and they still have Valentine decorations up. This is an indication on how slow they are. Air conditioning vent constantly blew very cold air on us. Do not recommend!

Food tasted really good. I ordered Tofu basil fried rice and pad thai with tofu. Portion size could have been better but you can have extra for couple of bucks extra. The sauce tray helps tp enhance the flavor of the food. Price was a little high compared to other thai restaurants but it was worth it.
