Good food, great service. Appears to be a local hang out. It's nice to hear the staff call the customers by name. I had a sausage omelette with rye toast that was delicious!!!

Terrible French Dip. 2/3 bread, bland au jus and roast beef so dry and flavorless it had to be a sawdust substitute. However, the staff was kind and accommodating. I would give them another go, but order something else. I'm told the chicken fried steak is great.

Home run ! Our party are a mix of lunch and breakfast items and everything was very good. Served fairly quick by friendly people. I sent update to Yelp, but if it doesn't take - know the place is close Sundays and closes at 1:30pm daily

The food was undeniably good, but the service itself is questionable. I ordered a take out burrito since I had other things to attend to, but while I was waiting for my food I caught one of the waitresses whispering to another while pointing at me. I already noticed the same individual seemed unhappy when I walked in, but it struck me as rude that she was doing this when I wasn't standing that far away from them. If she had a question, then I'm sure she could've confronted me instead of making me feel out of place.

Delicious fast breakfast and nice people. Be hungry when you go, the portions are nice and big!! Love the smothered breakfast burritos.

Been traveling to Durango a couple times a year for the past 4 years and I finally found my breakfast place!! Amazing diner. Can’t wait to come back next time!

There was so much to choose from on the menu. I got a meat omelette with hash browns and a pancake with strawberries and bananas because I couldn't decide on one dish. Both dishes were soooo good. The food came out quickly and the waitress was so friendly.

Great food, friendly service, H U G E portions, and a varied menu. My new favorite spot for breakfast in town!

This place is the best breakfast place in Durango! Fast service, great food, great prices, great staff! The parking is a bit tight but worth the best service in town! I highly recommend CJ's!

There are 2, and only 2 places that I like breakfast from in Durango. CJ's is probably the number 1 of those 2! The service is excellent, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is really cool as well. On the last visit i got the breakfast scramble sandwich subbing the scrambled eggs, for over medium eggs. I never order breakfast sandwiches because I usually feel like I make them better than the restaurant. Not here! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the croissant was flaky and fresh, and the ham was also very good. Only recommendation I'd make is leaving out the spinach. I ended up taking it off, and it was way better without it. The Hollandaise that comes on the side was a great addition to this perfect sandwich. I'll definitely be back for it. We also got Brady's favorite skillet, and what a heaping pile of food it was! Great tasting and enough for 2 extra meals! The pancake ordered as a side was outstanding as well. I've tried the chicken fried steak here and I was also impressed with it! If you are looking for a great breakfast in Durango, look no further.

We visit Durango regularly and found CJ's Diner on our last visit. The food was delicious, the staff friendly, and a place filled with the locals. Definitely wanted to go back for another great breakfast. Sadly that was not the case on this visit. After dropping the grandkids at school and daycare, we went over to CJ's for breakfast. It was a real disappointment. My Ben's Special was only lukewarm and one of the eggs was not over medium as ordered. I can live with that, I sometimes break the yolk myself. It was a different story with my husband's order - a Western Skillet - two eggs, hash browns, ham, onion, green pepper, and cheese. Who would ever guess that the onions and peppers would be raw (crunchy), the ham cold, and finely shredded cheese that didn't even melt at all? It was COLD. When I asked the very friendly server about it, she said "sometimes they cooked it and sometimes they don't. It depends on the cook. Next time be sure to say you want the ham and veggies cooked. I will write it on the order." I don't believe there are very many people that want raw onion for breakfast. The staff is very friendly and service is excellent but be sure to ask a lot of questions about the food. Also ask about specials - we were there at 830am and there were no specials on the board - even though they open at 630am. After we placed our order, the specials were written on the board.

We ate here for breakfast on a Saturday. They accommodated a large group on a busy morning. The restaurant seems super popular so get their early. Food was quick to come out and was very tasty. We will be back again!

Excellent breakfast! The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive with our large group. Our food came quickly and tasted wonderful. Omelets and skillets were amazing and the French toast was a big hit with the kids. We definitely recommend them if you're looking for someplace with a homey feel.

Sports Memorabilia adorns the walls of this cozy little breakfast spot. CJ’s Diner is a favorite of locals in Durango, Colorado. My breakfast choice today was the “Totally Meat Omelet ”, stuffed with ham, bacon and sausage and with a choice of cheeses. Today’s choice was a generous topping of melted Pepper Jack.Hash browns and your choice of toast, biscuit or tortillas are included to round out this wonderful breakfast. The attentive staff kept the coffee cup brimming and although the restaurant was very busy, our food arrived promptly.
