This place is excellent all around! The food and drink was fabulous. I started with a wonderful Brown Butter Mushroom Old Fashioned. For food I had the hanger steak and the tuna sashimi as an appetizer and both were excellent. The service team was also exceptional. I definitely will be back here.

They shut down, I had a reservation, we arrived before it, hours said they're open on Google and on their front door, and the doors were locked. If you're going to close then due notice across platforms is needed. Still don't know what happened, there was no sign or anything so at least for Tuesday nights, stay away.
Heard great things about it but as for us, we'd hope there would be a sign at least,.

Its fine Dining. The servers are very professional and offer that experience. I was very impressed with the service as someone that has lived in the area for the past 7 years but is from a metropolitan city. I was in a party of three. I had the salmon entree, my wife and friend had the tempura vegetables. we also had apps like ceviche scallops. the apps were great my salmon was great but the tempura was ok. To be fair there is not much of a competition in the area Eolis competes with except maybe the Boathouse in Mancos or Primus down the way or 2 restaurants in Telluride. I personally like the concept, I love the effort and will be a willing and grateful patron for as long as they exist. Eolis is some of the best Durango has to offer. Its also clear how hard they work to give you something that is worth talking about with your friends.

Kid-friendliness: we brought a stroller bound seven week old. We had reserved a seat. Eolis took in our situation and reseated us based on our need and theirs for traffic. It was great.

We ate here to celebrate my birthday ? and it was ? amazing!!! I had the scallops, which were perfect! My date had the special, NZ lamb. It was executed well and paired perfectly with crispy polenta cakes! The cocktails were fun and delicious. I ordered the peach and Choung which came with a whimsical lavender pinner to accompany the play on the name! Heather was a great server, explaining everything with knowledge and patience. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine. ? For dessert we had creme brulee, yummy! But the goat cheese berry cheesecake was my favorite! It was a beautiful atmosphere and the best way to celebrate.

We read the reviews and wanted to do something fancy for our night, we ordered 2 ways fillet of Duck ,it was so SALTY !! I couldn't eat them, mashed potatoes bed also Salty, why ??? don't you taste your food before you even serve them to your customers.
My hubby order the Filet also Salty , yike, we won't go back. The only ok part was the Maine Lobster. And the size of pre matured lobster, for $ 70 a dish, I wished we should be able to eat them. For the price and Fancy place likes this, it's just not Ok.

You need to taste your food before you serve!!

Your waitress saw what left on my plate for $ 50 or $60 I was too upset to remember ( duck) she doesn't even aware of why??? I don't eat them!!

Like I said , we WONT go back. I put the review here so anyone who is planning to go there, don't order these 2 dishes !!

Your beet salad & bread were great. Thats all...

Very sad to see a place of such quality can support the distribution of Veal when there is a grass fed beef place down the street.

This is a nice restaurant but my salad had slimey lettuce and my scallop ceviche was fishy and just not very good. Good wine list.

The atmosphere at Eolus Bar & Dining is chill and elegant. My friends and I were given a booth where we could easily converse. As you can see, the restaurant is beautifully appointed. I particularly appreciated the mountain outline at the top of a divider. The food is brought to the table in the way one expects from a fine dining establishments: individual servers bring out each person's plate in a small parade to place the plate in front of the person. Check out the house-made bread with black garlic butter. My friend who had the Duck Bao Buns raved about the subtlety of the flavors and overall magnificence of the dish. Two people at my table had the corn and squash soup special. They found the flavors complex and unexpected. Also, quite delicious! I shared a Yellowfin Tuna special with a friend. The candied pistachios were a welcome touch. We found the Brussel Sprouts to be a bit mundane, but tasty enough. The desserts were out of this world delicious and as good as they look.

I came in lastnight for my birthday (first time since before covid) and our experience was exceptional. Our server and the remainder of the team were extremely friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. To say the least we were well taken care of. Our entrees, dessert, appetizers were very well flavored & unique to each of their own. We will be back! As we do have the privilege of having this restaurant basically in our backyard.

We got to Eolus Bar & Dining about an hour before our reservation and called to see if we could be seated early. Luckily, we were seated within 15 minutes, which was great. The menu is definitely on the "fancy" side, and given the prices, you'd expect it to be.

When we sat down, the atmosphere felt a bit off. Despite its reputation as a high-end restaurant, there were people wearing flip-flops, making it feel more like a regular spot than anything fancy. Our server was okay but seemed very nervous and almost lost at times.

We ordered two lobster hamburgers with sweet potato fries. It sounded intriguing, and we both wanted something familiar. The burgers were just okay. I had a gluten-free bun, which wasn’t toasted – it felt like it came straight out of the bag. The ranch I asked for was thick and bland, plus it cost $2 for a small cup.

Overall, we left early and skipped dessert. I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Service was excellent. The bread and spread was tasty. If you want a simple steak that’s cooked nicely, maybe not the best place. It seems they’re trying to come across as fancier than what they really are by presenting the dishes with several creams and sauces that’s just not necessary.
