The food was awful. Everything was bland, watered down. Beans straight out of the can. Green chili looked like Ectocooler Hi-c. Half the burrito was empty and soggy. We will never visit this place again. Shady, tax evading cash only establishment on some elementary school cafeteria quality food.

So me and my Girlfriend came to eat here, she got the menudo bowl, I got the smothered burrito beef, while she enjoyed hers, mine was unflavored just cooked beef. There was RAW beef in the burrito or in the green chili sauce, I told the server this, and she said, "it's not raw it just turns pink" however she took it and threw it away, and when she returns to the window not knowing I can hear her she says "yeah that was raw" didn't offer to discount the meal nothing. This was not an experience I was expecting when I looked up the restaurant. I do not recommend this place to anyone, I am even starting to feel sick.

This restraunt don't take debit cards. They tell you to use there atm that charges 3.00 There food is horrible no flavor. Spanish rice taste like it was just tomato sauce. Green chili burger was dry and they only gave ketchup for it. The waitress as we sat only gave us 4 mins to order kept watching her watch the whole time. We will never go there again.

Carnitas were like somebody took a left over pork chop and tore apart with their hands a couple times and threw it on a plate. Very chincy with their sauce. Was not impressed @ all. Definitely not how we do it in New Mexico. Only 45 minutes away.
Terrible Mexican food burgers are the only edible thing

First time here and it'll be our last. Paid over $9 for a small portion and the Spanish rice was gritty and undercooked. There was very few people eating there and the waitresse's attitude was less than pleasant so she recieved no tip. I'd recommend Zia Taqueria near Big 5 instead. Never dissatisfied building our own plate there for the same price.

My friend offered buy me lunch since I drove him to an appointment. He wanted Mexican food. Neither of us know much about Durango, so I Googled. We settled on La Hacienda, but I got confused about where the restaurant was, turned in too soon, and ended up here. The first thing I noticed as we approached the entrance was the sign on the door announcing the restaurant does not accept credit/debit cards or checks. This place is cash only. My friend is a cash guy, so this wasn't a problem for us, but I know lots of people don't carry cash anymore. When we walked in, we ended up next to a long counter. I wasn't sure if we were supposed to order there or what. I didn't see a menu there. A lady behind the counter politely asked if it was just the two of us. When I said yes, she said we could sit wherever we wanted. My friend led us to a booth. The dining room had the vibe of a church hall or maybe an old diner in a small town. It certainly wasn't hip, but it wasn't pretentious. Our server was very nice and professional. Our food got to us super fast. I couldn't believe our food was on the table so soon after we ordered.Side note: There are no complimentary chips and salsa served before the meal. If you want chips and salsa here, you have to pay for them.I got the vegetarian plate. It came with two very small cheese enchiladas, a side of whole pinto beans with some cheese on top, a tiny pile of lettuce and diced tomatoes, rice, and a sopapilla. The rice was especially bad. It didn't look like rice with some tomatoes in it. It looked like stewed tomatoes with some rice in it. It was quite wet, soupy even. I took one bite, and it was awful. It tasted like canned tomatoes to me and nothing else. I do not typically waste food, but one bite is all I took of this rice, and the rest stayed on my plate. I did not care for it one bit.Neither the beans nor the enchiladas were very flavorful. The beans had practically no flavor and needed salt, and the only thing I could taste of the enchiladas was salt. I couldn't taste any spices in either. The sopapilla was very, very good. It was hot and not at all greasy. There was a bottle of honey on the table and I used it on my sopapilla liberally. My friend got a large plate of food and an additional two crispy tacos. He ate everything on his plate with no complaints.I brought home half of the enchiladas and half of the beans that I didn't finish. I'll try to doctor up these leftovers with some spices...maybe eat the beans on a flour tortilla...maybe put a fried egg on top of the enchiladas.I would not eat here again. I would go so far as to give a hard no to anyone suggesting Griegos as a place to eat on a group outing I was part of. I just don't think the food here is worth the price.
Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian plate on the menu. You can also ask for vegetarian green or red chile. I did not ask if rice and beans are vegetarian, but I did receive rice and beans on the vegetarian plate.
Parking: Parking is under awnings, which is cool. (Looks like the place was maybe once a drive-in.) Parking area is not all that big, room for maybe 10 or 12 cars.
Kid-friendliness: There is menu for kids. Kids would probably do fine here.

Durango Colorado hidden gem. This place is that hole in the wall type of place that most look for. Simple menu with tasty options! The Double Decker was really good. The green chili here is so good. Be sure to check the hours before heading there. This is also cash only, but there is an ATM inside, so it's really not an issue. Make sure and try the sopapilla's with honey! Highly recommend at least trying this place.
Parking: It's can be a little tight sometimes for parking, worth it though.
Kid-friendliness: They have meals for kids and dessert.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to maneuver a wheelchair inside and out.

Avoid like the plague. I actually feel like they ripped me off. Just go to Zias or Fridas.
