We love coming to highway 3 for raw oysters and a unique menu you can’t compare to anywhere else in town. Love the relaxed atmosphere and service is always great. Just wish they were open all week long!

Such an odd experience. Food was MID ordered chicken fried steak and Mac n cheese with chicken and “green chile” (average) wouldn’t recommend.

Owner was unbelievably rude to my 87 year old grandfather on his birthday and used profanity at him when my grandfather accidentally mixed up his reservation time by 10 minutes.

I didn’t get the experience of food, service and atmosphere. We were traveling and stopped in Durango. I. Used to live there and was really looking forward to eating out at a place that would be a little elevated and unusual. We did the usual lookup on the internet and we saw this place and wanted to try it. We called ahead to make reservations and were told that since it was only two of we wouldn’t need reservations and that they weren’t busy. We did have a hard time finding it just like the review said it was after dark and raining, not ideal when you are trying to find a hidden gem. When we finally found it, it took us a while to park. Not much room in their lot for a full sized truck. We were happy to get there (around 7:30 pm) and looking forward to having a good dinner. We were met at the door with a gal who was holding a piece of paper saying they were closed. My husband explained that we were from out of town, the difficulties we had finding the place, and that his wife (me) was looking forward to a nice meal and dining out experience. The were obviously serving people because we saw other patrons inside. She told us that they didn’t have enough servers and/or staff to accommodate us. For two people, REALLY? So, my nice date night with dinner on the town ended up at Applebees. Yeehaw! (Not that Applebees wasn’t OK). But thanks Roadhouse, I had a great experience!Parking: Boo!

? ? Their Oysters taste like mud. I have never ever eaten an Oyster that taste like a mud puddle. I'm so glad I only ordered the 6, all six were gross. I will never order those again. The quality was soo poor I don't trust to ever order their Oysters again. The tacos were the smallest baby sized street tacos I've ever seen. The slaw tasted like pure white vinegar. And there was only 4 little jalf inch cubes of fish..what a let down.I ate the fish but the vinegar made the rest of the tacos absolutely inedible. ?Martinis were served to my table still in the shaker.. that's not ideal. Additional time just sitting in the shaker ice just over dilutes the cocktail. The waitress seemed genuinely confused by me ordering a Gin Martini.Sorry. It's a classic standard cocktail. It has been a thing for well over a hundred years. She asked me three or four times if I meant to order a Dirty Martini.I answered No each time. And by the last time I was pretty confused why she kept asking me.I tried to politely say, "No. I would like a standard Gin Martini. I'd like Beefeater Dry London Gin with Dry Vermouth over Ice. NO olive brine please. If olive brine is added that's what's called a "Dirty"-Martini.The gf crab cake was just ok. Unfortunately it was the best dish I would get for my dinner. The staff was good. They were attentative to refill water and take empty plates. The location feels very hidden at best. I'm not able to see it from the road and I didnt notice a sign or indicator where to park or where the entrance was..It took a few minutes to wonder around and find.Made me think Google maps had given me wrong directions.I don't expect you to move the building, im not saying you need Vegas lights..but a couple of signs would save soo many visitors from the confusion. They may just eat elsewhere if they have to search for a restaurant. I almost couldn't find the place. This is one of the very few places IN Durango that any local has recommended for dining to us. I was very excited to get some comfort food and have a great date nite. I fail to understand the experience. We won't be back.I'm convinced there's nothing good to eat in Durango, except for my house.Parking: Needs clear signage. I never have had soo much trouble to find a restaurant.

Oh,Durang, You have sold your soul. We traveled and and shoppedin your city recently. While we might have been" Tourists ",we decided to sample your wares. We are retired restaurants owners and business owners. We have dined from the Emerald Coast of Florida to the Gulf shores of Mississippi. From Ensenada, Mexico, to the southern tip of Baja, Mexico. We preview ed local online Restaurants from the Ore House to the Three Highways Cajun seafood place. Having spent 40 years in the industry, we try to call ahead for reservations and or available times before the kitchen closes. We finally found the Cajun place, darkly lit and tucked back in a alley. Hey,right on! Isnt that whats supposed to happen in Durango? Grunge and Groove? Having spoken to management earlier and being informed that no reservations needed, we were met at the door with a handwritten note saying" closed". The lady was cordial, but determined. Citing lack of staff, etc. Bottom Line. Visitors to the vague and costly city of Durango eateries, find a Dennys or an Applebee's. Thefood and ambience might not be as good, but you wont be walking bowlegged the next day.

We were traveling and from our hotel room called this business to see if we were able to have dinner there. They said we wouldn't need reservations as it was only the two of us. The place was REALLY hard to find. It was in an ally on the backside of another business (a garage maybe?) I love finding good out of the way places, right? We parked (big truck, tiny parking lot), finally and made our way to the entrance. The entrance was also hard to find. It had Been about an hour since we called to see if we needed reservations. We were met at the front door by a hostess?? Holding a paper sign that said the restaurant would be closing for the evening, no explanation. My husband told her we had called and been told that our coming fir dinner was no problem, that they weren't busy and also told her that we had a hard time finding the place and that we were from out of town. She said, Sorry', we have something else going on. He told her again that we gad called and been told, "no problem". Then she told us they were short staffed. My husband and I have been in the restaurant business for many years and we found

We ordered 1 dozen fresh oysters that were served with many shell fragments in each one, then we ordered the lobster roll. Needless to say this wasn't the best eitherThere was a seasoning added to the lobster that took away from the taste of the lobster itself. We have dined here many times but this is the last! The cost of the meal did not equal the quality of the food.

We came to this restaurant in September of 2022. We were taking the scenic route from Southern Missouri to Moab utah. I found this restaurant in a brochure at one of the hotels we stayed at along the way. When we got there it was quite the wait. Good sign? Beyond good sign!!! My friend and I had catfish, my husband had a shrimp poor boy and as appetizers the men ordered oysters on the half and I had shrimp. The food was absolutely amazing! Our waitress was very attentive. We were so impressed. We're planning a trip back to moab in 2024 and we will definitely be making our way back!!!! One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Side note. The owner at the door is so nice and told us about how he came to be in durango it was one of the highlights of our trip

Almost hesitant to recommend this, truly unique and iconic spot. I’ve been coming here for almost 15 years, and it remains superb and entirely consistent. I LOVE Highway 3!!Absolutely great food, and enough variety on the New Orleans style menu for everyone to find something they will want. And, of course, the essentially perfect hurricane cocktail. The owner is iconic as well and greets you as you walk in, a true gentleman, and extremely gracious. But be forewarned, this establishment is only open from 4 PM to 8 PM Wednesday through Friday. The desserts are also amazing, highlighted by the light and perfectly created beignets. The indoor - outdoor dining experience is also excellent, with a wide variety of options. Truly a great atmosphere.Highly recommended!!

What a find! Off the road, back of the back, with atmosphere you read about but seldom find. Fried okra and catfish were outstanding. Shrimp etouffee was succulent, smokey, with chopped classic in the gravy...awesome. Bread pudding made my meal complete! Service was cheerful, friendly. We will DEFINITELY be back one day.

I tried two dishes for the first time, so have nothing really to compare the dishes too. The Gator bites were delicious and is quite a dry white meat-the rub and accompanying sauce were welcome condiments. The catfish sandwich was something to itself. Very much a bottom-feeder with a moderate "muddy" odor. It was something I am glad I tried, but likely will not try again, but that is more a reflection of my personal taste and less on the restaurant's food. All in all the service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming New Orleans vibe.

Popcorn shrimp was soft, not crispy. Gumbo was bland. Oysters were good. Chocolate bourbon pecan pie was good, but the crust was more like dense bread. Service was excellent. Very noisy for this old boomer. I'd go back, though, and try some other dishes.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian menu items are marked "G".Kid-friendliness: Not too kid friendly, IMHO.Wheelchair accessibility: Fully ADA compliant.
