I cannot say enough wonderful things about James Ranch. I saved this spot as the end meal on our Spring Break trip. I wish I would’ve planned for it to be first so we could come back again.
First, the young man at the window was phenomenal and deserves solid recognition. He was attentive, very good at explaining the menu, and patient with my daughter letting her try different drinks so she could decide what she wanted.
The food was phenomenal. The burger was cooked perfectly, the tomato spread was unique and flavorful. The cheese, was top notch. I loved the fries, along with the ketchup and fry sauce.
The views were perfect.
I enjoyed walking the property line reading about the history of the ranch (no - I never found the chicken coop on wheels in the pasture!), the cattle came right up to the river to drink while we were standing there, and being able to see the dairy barn up close and personal.
The same young man at the window came over and checked on us, brought us a high chair and wiped it down in front of us which I appreciated. Then, as we were leaving he was helping another customer and still managed to tell us bye, my husband said “that kid made the whole experience!” I wish I got his name.
The market was a nice addition, and I wish we would’ve went to the cheese shop!

To be real the food is amazing and the kids had a great time.. Good thing they had beer cause it was an hour and a half from the time we got in line till we got our food. I can't give any place a 5 star with that kinda wait. I did hear usually it is not this busy in March so that could have been part of the problem. Oh we got the bbq burger, James classic both medium rare and 2 kids burgers all cooked to perfection. Staff was nice.

This restaurant came highly recommended, but unfortunately, we weren’t impressed. When we arrived there was a large group who arrived before us and the host told us “I’m not sure how long of wait it will be and I don’t know if we can get you in.” Not exactly the type of clarity you need to plan your evening. We asked again and he told us if we could find an open seat to take it-no help. We had to arrange our own table to setup.
When we ordered our burgers, we were informed they did not include fries. I thought the burgers were priced on the higher side to not include a side. I ordered fried and ranch-$8. Again, that’s seems pricey to me. Food took a long time to come out.
That said, the burger did taste good and with it being a farm to table restaurant, everything tasted good and was definitely good quality with a good view. We just expected better service and value for the price, which is why I gave it 3 stars.

The place is incredible, it’s a ranch in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. They breed their own cattle so you can imagine how the beef tasted!!
They specialize in burgers and chili.
The Bison burger was really good.

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant that is worth the drive out of town for either lunch or dinner. Their steak sandwich is always fire and the fries and the fresh ketchup makes it even better. If you've never been definitely walk out back and take in the views!
