During the Durango Cowboy Gathering, found Odd Bird Baking at the market by the post office, and noticed some oddly colored scones; kind of a blueish-grey, because of the blueberry and lavender in them I think. Long story short, I'm a big fan of scones, but 95% I've found in the USA are too moist and cake-like/bread-like inside. These were the best scones I've had in many years; not too moist, not too dry, just perfect. And the flavor was great. What a surprise. Well done.

Rachel made a six inch wedding cake and 64 petit fours for our wedding. Our florist decorated the cake, but everything was simple and beautiful out of the box. We were so grateful that Rachel had capacity to fit us in as I didn’t reach out to bakers until two months prior to the wedding. We got an almond cake with cherry filling and almond buttercream and a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and vanilla buttercream. Everyone loved the flavors and the petit fours were perfect for our campground wedding since we didn’t have to try and cut that much cake.

This bakers superpowers extend into her food, allowing us mortals to experience a brief moment of pure bliss. Lavender blue corn meal scone? DEVOURED. Persian love cake? GULP. I've never trusted someone else with my pies for this holiday, and I might have just found some folks who can save me the the labor of it all in the future. The pumpkin w/choco streusel (I thinks that's what she said it was... I would say pure delight) was out of this world! Paired with a cold glass of milk, the room was full of smiles and 'mmm mmm mm' sounds. :)
