The store is beautiful…I bought the Oak Honey, Pecan Pie loose tea, and the Pistachio Matcha.

I was in Durango this past June/2024. One of the stops I did was at the Old Barrel Tea Co. where this young lady named Gaby let me taste some of the teas and I end up buying some of them, after Gaby explained what the teas where for. I got the leche de mamá for one of my daughters in law. If I ever go there again definitely I would stop by and hopefully Gaby would be there.

She was so knowledgeable, kind, and helpful while I asked her a million questions about the ingredients in the tea and their healing properties. Definitely coming back here!

Their products are mostly local, including an astounding array of loose leaf teas, several types of healing herbs, body lotions, different types of honey, vanilla bean paste, cocoa, and essential oils. There is also the traditional souvenirs like kitchy knick-knacks, and T-Shirts, with tumblers designed to support the Child Mind institute and Orphanages in Mexico.
The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. There's a comfortable seating area where you can people watch as you sip your delicious hot or cold beverage. The design of the shop is whimsically fun as they had plants in gutter pipes along the walls near the sunny windows.
There are large, old fashioned barrels where tea, honey and other items are on display, and it is evident that someone spent a great deal of time arranging their wares so that they maximize space, while allowing for an airy and relaxing environment.
When perusing downtown Durango, the Old Barrel Tea Company is a must-see!

The people who work here are some of the kindest people iv come across in Durango! They are so helpful and always letting you try something. We bought one of teas with bee pollen and then went back and got my daughter her own caffeine free tea. I love loose leaf teas. Will definitely be back after they move locations

She was so kind and knowledgeable. She made great tea suggestions and let us sample the local honeys. She really made our day! We will definitely be back.

My son and I came in before Christmas to buy a gift for a friend.We were greeted by Gabrielle . Gabrielle was merchandising and stopped what she was doing and greeted my son and I with a big smile. I asked her what kinds of tea would be good for relaxing. She was so full of knowledge. I bought several tea sets.We went back again yesterday and she was so happy to see us. We sampled some more delicious teas. I would definitely recommend going in. Thank you Gabrielle, we will see you often with your recommendations of teas.
