Just wanted to let everyone know since they do not let you know over the phone, if you order to go, they will include a 20% tip on your to go order, they are very busy so it is definitely worth it to call in, just wanted people to be aware of the gratuity that they automatically apply, I’ve never seen that done for to go orders at a restaurant before.

We were one of the first orders of the day and it still took 1.75 hours. They ring you up and do not show you a bill, add tip, and then you wait. Not worth the wait.

We always grab some pizzas and a calzone each time we visit- food is very good. We were surprised to find that when we picked up our pizza tonight that we were charge 25% gratuity for our carry out. We were only told when we questioned how high the bill was. We had 3 pizzas and a calzone. Unfortunately, won’t be visiting again. Sad to see this kind of practice to folks that are regular customers and folks who live in Colorado. Watch out.

We ordered a calzone which they advertise is the size of a football and enough to feed 4 adults. Well, my friends, that would be the largest football I have ever seen and could probably feed 6 adults. It was delish!! The place is pretty small. The only complaint is that there were 20 somethings in there playing pool and yelling. It was slightly obnoxious.

This is one of the most unique restaurants in the Durango area. Is the combination of mountain atmosphere with the heartbeat of Durango activity if you’re looking for a restaurant with character And some Degree of funk this is the place. The pizza and calzones are unmatched anywhere any place anytime. The weight is usually long but well worth it.

I had a little bit left of a lacroix I was finishing when I walked in the door. 3 steps in the door and the bartender gal who was playing pool, proceded to walk up to me and literally rip the can out of my hand as she yells "you can't have that in here." Not that the soda water was any competition to the several beers we were about to purchase. But hey, if it was, just kindly ask me to get rid of my water. The 4 of us were totally shocked by the rude, arrogant behavior of this gal and we immediately walked out. Never have I been so disrespected by staff in a business in my 37 years. Hopefully the owner will do something as they otherwise lost at least 4 local customers.

I had a little bit left of a lacroix I was finishing when I walked in the door. 3 steps in the door and the bartender gal who was playing pool, proceded to walk up to me and literally rip the can out of my hand as she yells "you can't have that in here." Not that the soda water was any competition to the several beers we were about to purchase. But hey, if it was, just kindly ask me to get rid of my water. The 4 of us were totally shocked by the rude, arrogant behavior of this gal and we immediately walked out. Never have I been so disrespected by staff in a business in my 37 years. Probably some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. All of the dollar bills on the ceiling were fun to read. The pizza crust was bubbly and cooked to perfection. The wait was about 30 minutes but it was also busy. Totally fine because the taste of the pizza was so worth it!

I ordered two pizzas (veggie and pepperoni) and two salads for takeout, and my total was a shocking $76. When I asked about the outrageous price, I was told it included a 20% “gratuity.” This is nothing but a sneaky “takeout fee.”
A gratuity is supposed to be something given voluntarily or beyond obligation, usually as a tip for service. Adding a mandatory gratuity for takeout is deceptive and unfair. This place is clearly trying to rip off its customers.

Come in, order food, have a drink and play the free pool and shuffle board. The food won't take as long if you are having fun.
We came to the area from AZ, and my family came from NM, it was our first time visiting the Olde Schoolhouse. We were welcomed and treated nicely by Ben and had a great night. In fact, we took a pizza home with us all the way to AZ because it was so good.
