Look at this pizza. It was so sparse and I paid $30 for a small. I added pineapple, green chili, sausage and extra mozzarella. Apparently if you pay the extra $3 you don’t get any cheese on the pizza. Never going back

Spent the day on the mountain and came here for lunch and dinner. Everything was amazing! All the staff was so friendly and the customer service was on point.

I think that people who give this place one star reviews have overly high expectations. This is not a San Francisco, New York, Chicago or big city restaurant. There are very limited options for dining at Purgatory and they suffer from the lack of labor and inconsistent patronage patterns. You have Purgy's, Nugget, Olde Schoolhouse and Paradise. Let me know if I missed anyone. I eat at Paradise once a year and like that they still are in business. I give them one star for being open, one star for doing table service instead of counter service and one star for a very nice patio and an additional star just to counter the one star reviews. I always order pizza and the middle is always soft, some might say soggy, but most of it is good. I suggest that Paradise copy the pizza process from Olde Schoolhouse which is much better. They also have a good beer menu, but unfortunately there were out of many of them at my last visit.

Younger blond server was awful. Dined in for lunch 7/11. 3 tables got there after us and she got all their orders first. Condescending and barely touched our table. Brought half order of wings when we ordered a pound, then acted like it was our fault.

There was about 75% of the tables empty so not like they were slammed. Either super inexperienced or just doesn’t care. Beer was 1/4 full of foam. She got our order and brought check for the hour we were there. Sucks to tip 20% for trash service. Wings were solid though.

Drinks are Ho-Hum at best.

I've had much better pizza @Chuck-E Cheese.

Non existent service to boot will leave you wishing you had brought more beef jerky from the gas station.

Cheers!

On June 30, 2025, my party of 12, including my wife, kids and grand kids were seated in the outdoor patio at 12:50 pm. We ordered our drinks and ordered 4 pizzas. At 1:30pm our 1st pizza showed up, and our female server told us that our other 3 pizzas would arrive “very soon”. After 1 hour and 20 minutes, at 2:10 pm, the remainder of our order had (still) not arrived. After sitting and waiting, our grand kids and all of us had given up on receiving our order, so I told the server, that I wanted to pay for what we did receive, our drinks and the 1 of 3 pizzas that we did receive. Our server again told me that the remainder of our pizza order would be ready “very soon”. I told her “no” I just want to pay for what we received and leave. She said, “I’m sorry, but we are short staffed”, and sorry but, and rattled off more excuses. When I paid, and even tipped her, she said, “I think you are rude”. My suggestion to everyone, don’t patronize Paradise Pizzeria & Ice Creamery at Purgatory Ski Area!

I have lived in 9 states and seen 30 countries and this is still the worst pizza I have ever had. Charging money for this should be a federal offense. It’s legitimately a frozen pizza and idk what happened between last year and now but AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

We were at Purgatory for a few hours and had something to eat here before heading back to Durango. We had some mac & cheese and boneless buffalo nuggets. The mac & cheese was fair. Not a lot of taste, but not bad either. The buffalo nuggets were good.

Can confirm, the negative reviews this place has are spot on and unchanged as of March 2025. We tried it at various different times and the results were the same. I get that it is probably hard to find top-tier talent to work jobs like this, but people being rude really ruins the experience for a hospitality business. The Golden Rule would go a long way here: treat people with respect and kindness, go out of your way to make memorable experience and do everything in your power to make negative situations right. From what I experienced, the attitudes and service issues start with the shift managers and permeate the rest of the staff.

This place has the potential to be a gem here at the resort - just needs some work. I’m hoping to update this review with a positive outcome in the future.

Rude dark haired bartender. Rude blonde waitress. Refused to acknowledge us back while we were standing by hostess stand. They Made eye contact then looked away without any words. Acknowledged others but not us. So we didnt bother ordering/sitting after waiting. This place was not full either so it wasnt due to being busy. Only two at bar, half tables empty. Everyone else at the resort (lift ops, other stores, restaurants) have been so great. Avoid this awful place.
Go to Olde Schoolhouse for much better pizza.
