Very nice upscale restaurant. Best meal I've had this year in Durango. Elk tenderloin and the trout were exceptional. Sea bass is also exceptional. Service was good. They now take reservations from the general public.

I had higher expectations. The salad was tiny, soggy and way overpriced. The burger was under-cooked. Server was very slow which was odd being how empty the restaurant was, but she was friendly. The manager was very nice. I would not recommend for the price or quality of food.

Wow, what a fantastic meal. Atmosphere is superb. Our server Madi was delightful and most helpful. A must go spot.

The ambiance was amazing! The food was delectable! The portion size for the price is unbelievable! Our table ordered the Osobucco, Country Fried Steak, shrimp alfredo, and the Burrata Salad with Salmon. All was cooked/made to perection!

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs wide doors easy access.

We were so excited to get in since we are not members to Glacier Club. We were the only couple in the bar area. First cocktail came in white wine glass. It was great so ordered a second. It literally came in a cordial glass. Ordered a 3rd….never came. Again, we were the only people in the bar area. Have no idea of the lack of communication. And the wait staff gets a solid 20% gratuity so I guess they just don’t care. We will not be back.

We were given a recommendation by the owners of the Apple Orchard Inn to come and eat here while we stayed there on our honeymoon. Leslie said that they had really good prime rib. I must say, it was excellent!! Melt in your mouth delicious! Definitely worth the money. Service was great as well! When they found out my husband and I were on our honeymoon, they offered us a free dessert. That extra touch of personal service was really nice. Highly recommend!

We arrived for dinner tonight at approximately 6:10 p.m. A waitress seated us and asked what we would like to drink. We ordered a lemonade and a ginger beer. We were not given menus and never received our drinks after waiting for at least 20 minutes. We finally left because we received NO service! Your restaurant was recommended to us as having excellent service and over the top fine dining. This was to be my husband's 60th birthday celebration dinner...thanks for ruining it.

This restaurant is MUCH better than what the average review score indicates. Wonderfully prepared, tasty food! We have eaten here a couple of times, and the food is always delicious. As it is a new restaurant (and as all of us know with the labor shortages everywhere) there were some service glitches, but I'm sure they'll work them out over time.A word about the reviews - you'll notice that a lot of them were low because they called for a reservation and were told they couldn't have one. This is not fair to this restaurant - please be aware that this restaurant is in a private, members-only golf club, and as such only members may make reservations. But all the public is welcome to eat here. There are PLENTY of tables in this restaurant, so if you're not a member, just show up and you can be seated!

We've enjoyed many wonderful meals here since they opened. We highly recommend the white pizza! The servers are so friendly and the chef is very accommodating of my vegetarian requests. I would note that this restaurant is part of the Glacier Club, but open to the public. Tamarron visitors/non-members cannot make reservations at this time. I suggest arriving early if you are not a Glacier member/do not have a reservation. Hopefully they will figure out a more accommodating situation, such as same-day reservations and/or take out. But for now, give it a try!

Absolutely dynamite restaurant experience. The food was phenomenal, the servers were friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere was a true vibe. Don't let lesser reviews fool you- this is a new restaurant space still getting its legs under it and it deserves to be recognized for its incredible dining experience, not because someone couldn't get takeout (which Google expressly states this restaurant does not accommodate). The Prospector is a gem in northern Durango- a true culinary treat. You won't be disappointed!

Tried to make a reservation for an evening dinner and was told that they only have one table available currently. It was 4:30 PM and the place was entirely empty. Was then told we couldn’t make a reservation for later because we were not members, even though we were staying at the lodge next door. We asked about placing a to-go order, but that was also not an option. Don’t waste your time or money.
