I just had my second baby at the mercy hospital and of course had to order sushi as my post labor celebratory dinner. The girl on the phone heard my baby while I was ordering and said congratulations! When my husband went to pick up said order she said it was on the house. I just wanted to share my wonderful experience and say thank you rice monkey for being so amazing enough to pick up the tab after I just had my baby. This is always my favorite spot to go to when I’m in Durango and it will continue to stay that way!! The food was phenomenal as well?

This place is so FRESH and so GOOD! I'm a huge sushi lover and really picky with places. We started off with the fried pork rolls and i will crave those again and again. Super crunchy, super tasty and the dipping sauce, Wowza!! The rolls were fresh, nice size pieces and they have cilantro to add to any rolls. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I come from amazing restaurants in Florida then moved to Denver and found only 2 places for Sushi that were a hit. Nowwww I moved to Durango and tried several and Rice ? is my #1 . It is in a perfect location in downtown Durango, it's a small place inside but the smaller the restaurant the better and fresher and cleaner it is. It has outdoor pet friendly area with a roof, and wonderful to people watch. I can't wait to go back to my new favorite sushi place. Prices are a bit high but worth it.

Volcano Roll and Bang Bang Shrimp were both great. Really great service (very friendly). The place is small but well decorated and has a nice atmosphere. And I like their art!

The place is confusing when I went back I thought it was Japanese/Vietnamese food and everybody speaking Spanish in the kitchen. Food definitely not like it was when I was here a few years back you can taste the difference & no alcohol how can you sever sushi with no sake sever was amazing Lars did everything to help us even though we were not happy with the place . I would recommend pop sushi instead

I highly recommend the pho. The sushi is pretty good too, but not as good as the pho.

Bought some rolls for appetizers and really were not expecting too much. Were we wrong! Took them to go. Very tasty and decent value in a notoriously expensive town for good food. 5 stars!

No alcohol and did not seem to care. Dirty bathroom. Menus were old and dirty, from prior owners. No sweetener for tea. First dish was not edible so cancelled rest of meal. Will not come back . Wish it was run by old owners when it was well run and food used to be great

I saw on other posts about new ownership. I thought it was different. I didn't recognize the crew. That probably explains the change in taste of food. It's definitely not the same. For us as a party of 4, two of Japanese descent, it was just okay. However our waitress was very nice and accommodating. This used to be our favorite place to come when we visit from nearby.

Sushi was very tasty especially given this part of the country.

Hot, sweaty dump with extravagant prices. Pick up order simple rice bowls, veg rolls, desserts. $89 and then they ask if you want to tip $17? The cook couldn't speak English, rude and making food next to the cash register? Sweaty people packed in little and few tables like sardines.

Vegetarian options: Not much

Parking: No parking available and a police car sits and watches.

Place used to be great, but with change of ownership this year, the decline is precipitous! Service may even be worse than the food!
